I had to end a trip early because of a cycling accident which meant an unexpected return to the UK for an operation. I had to cancel six hotels, all with similar booking terms. This one was the only one to refuse a refund, which they did in a point-blank, unfriendly manner. Needless to say, I won't be booking any Crowne Plaza hotels in the future. They have left an unpleasant, money-grabbing taste.

Thank you very much for your comment. I am not aware that one of my guests had a cycling accident in Brugge. It depends also what kind of hotel reservation you made. Please contact me personally so we can discuss this issue.

This newer modern hotel offers a spacious family room with 2 double beds which was perfect for our family of 3. There are not many hotels in Brugge which offer family rooms so if you need a triple or quad room, please check out this hotel. The location is so convenient and perfect for our needs. After a red eye flight from Montreal to Brussels, we took the train to Brugge and this hotel is within walking distance from the bus stop. After enjoying the 3 hours of walking tour offered by the Tourism office at 9E pp, we took a nap at 7 PM to get over our jet lag. Our tour guide also took us to the basement of the Crown Plaza hotel to see the church ruins discovered during the construction of the hotel. We ventured out at 10 pm to enjoy Brugge's beautiful evening lights and scenes.

The next day, we checked out early, left our luggage at the hotel and bought the museum pass at 12E pp (using the hotel's discount card) from Belfry and enjoyed the attractions covered by the pass. We left Brugge late in the afternoon.

We booked this hotel through Expedia at $164 inc taxes (breakfast not included). There was an additional 7.50E of taxes collected by the hotel when we checked out.

We love this hotel and will defintely use it again on future visits.

This hotel was strategically located right near Market Square in the heart of Brugge. The hotel looks new, is spotless and the decor and service and finishes are all first rate. It's likely a 4* but is missing a few things.

Unfortunately the outside architecture and styling could place this building in Cincinatti or Cleveland or Winnipeg. Why couldn't they have style at least blend in with the wonderful Brugge architecture? It was the same inside. Hotel could have been anywhere. Wouldn't know you were even in Europe until you walked outside.

Having missed all European and neighborhood styling cues, they at least made the hotel very modern, comfortable and of a very nice quality level. We were very happy with our stay and the value.

Overall it was very nice and can recommend it but lacking the Brugge flavour, we'd try another hotel next time.

Thank you very much for your reaction. It is good reading your comment. The building was constructed in the 1985. The whole building is newly build but was kept in the style as the former hotel on the same place. Brugge is quite severe on buildings and want's to keep everything as it historicaly was. Like our hotel. In the hotel we have the old city wall and foundations of the Sint Donation Church, which dates 950. Have you visited it? I hope that you will return next time and that you take the opportunity to visit this.

Thank you very much

We had a wonderful experience in this hotel. They have a swimmingpool, gym and sauna that is open daily till 11pm. Walking distance to all key places in the heart of Brugge. Parking facility available, but expensive. Breakfast was fantastic. Clean and quiet room, assures peaceful sleep. Chocolate on your sidetable everyday. Including coffee/tea making facilities. Wifi free.

We stayed here for one night and it was really nice. Super clean. The room was nicely done up. The beds were really comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located at the heart of the city. Everything is within walking distance. I enjoyed hearing the horses pass by.

I would definitely recommend this hotel because of its cleanliness, ambience and the location. I really enjoyed my stay while in Brugge.

Stayed here one night. After a week in quaint European hotels, it felt good to actually be in a hotel setup that felt familiar. Lots of space and the typical amenities you find in hotels in the U.S. So, I think this is for folks who feel more comfortable staying in a hotel room that provides those things, especially space. This might be a good option for families traveling. There are certainly about 1,000 hotel options in Bruges that offer the more European experience. But, it's a solid place, the service was outstanding, and the location is perfect. I was also very happy with the price.

Room Tip: If you want breakfast included, you have to pay for that.

I took my parents here for a special birthday celebration. Due to their lack of mobility it was perfectly situated for us to get to the highlights of Bruges. My sister and I shared a twin room that had 2 double beds in it, brilliant. Again the hotel met the needs of my parents well - non feather pillows, room near the ground floor. Despite there being a concert in Burg square on our last night it really doesn't impact on the hotel too much. I have stayed at this hotel with parents and my children, in different years and think it still manages to please. Excellent hotel, with excellent staff in an excellent location.

Room Tip: Try to get a room that doesn't overlook Burg square as it may be noisy but do bear in mind it is...

Thank you very much for your comment. I am sorry for the music festival on the square in front of the hotel, we have no impact on these. We try to inform our guests as best as possible via our website and facebook pages. The festivals are in the period from 15th of July till the 15th of August.
