Mum and Dad took us to Brugge having been there before- Crowne Plaza was a random find having consulted tripadvisor-and once again tripadvisor didn't let us down. The hotel was very well located for our needs- it was incredibly cold in dec- so we were happy to look around the markets and chocolate shops and then get back to the hotel. The room was clean and plush with a lovely bed- there was even a spray you could put on your pillow to aid sleep. The staff were helpful and polite. The restaurant lacked atmosphere, but we acknowledged it wasn't busy as it was a mid-week stay. My omelette was huge and very yummy! I would recommend the place for a night or two.

Located close to down town this hotel comes up with a nice price/performance ratio. Parking your car isn't too much of a trouble since they have their own space with an internal connection. Rooms are okay.
Breakfastroom has a open view on the square and a buffet. Food quality is okay.

I booked the Crowne Plaza Brugge through Eurostar and noticed how centrally located the hotel was to everything in the city.

Upon arriving at Brugge train station it was a short cab ride through the city and instantly noticed how close the main tourist attracts were to the hotel. The hotel is placed in a nice quiet corner from the main square so was shaded from any noise from traffic or people.

The lobby was grand and you could tell the staff took pride in their hotel. We were given a courtesy room upgrade with a view of the front of the hotel; which was great.

Our room was very nice, plenty of space for luggage, coats etc. The bed was absolutely brilliant. My fiancée wants to buy the same type once were married, so must be good.
The bathroom was very clean and spacious, with the toilet separated, which is very handy.

Nice touches of complementary water and cereal bar when you arrive. As well as free wifi Internet in the rooms & free access to computers in the lobby; a rarity in Europe.

Overal, this hotel made my engagement proposal that extra special and we've vowed to come back on our first anniversary.

Thank you to all the staff at The Crowne Plaza, Brugge!

We got some good rates for this hotel and really enjoyed our stay there. The location is excellent, and in fact the hotel is built exactly over the historic centre of Bruges - a 9th century fort built by Baldwin Iron Arm, and a subsequent church. Ask at reception to look round the conference centre in the basement where old walls and pilings are evident as well as archaeological displays. (This was actually one of the unexpected highlights of our visit.) The modern hotel itself is standard Crowne Plaza fare, and the staff are friendly and efficient. We had a box of Belgian Chocolates in the bedroom as a Priority Club Platinum welcome, and bottled water was replenished daily. Any shortages of tea / coffee in the room were replenished promptly and enthusiastically. The free Wifi Internet was blazingly fast. The swimming pool is not large and not especially warm, but was a welcome diversion. The reception staff were happy to print out boarding passes that were emailed to them.

Last but not least, we were lazy one night and rather than traipsing about looking for a restaurant in a tourist hot-spot we booked in to the hotel's own gourmet restaurant, Het Kapittel. Like many hotel restaurants it was quiet - only three tables dining that Friday night - but we were extremely pleased. A three course meal (plus delightful complimentary amusee bouches) from a seasonal Game Menu with accompanying wines came to about 50 euros per head, and compared to many other dining choices in Bruges that is stunning value. It is Michelin-listed, deserves to be, and rates more attention in these reviews.

The Crowne Plaza has probably one of the best locations in Bruges, situated in Burg Square. As Priority Club members we were lucky to be upgraded to a suite overlooking the square! Not bad considering we had partly paid using priority points and paid for eurostar with nectar! We had a lovely big king bedroom with separate lounge and 2 TV's, large bathroom with jacuzzi shower and his/hers basins. It was all very clean. Although the square is very busy during the day, at night it was quiet and we had no problems sleeping. The pool and gym are small, but adequate for a city centre hotel. We didn't eat at the hotel at all, we had breakfast at the previously mentioned Le Pain Quotidien (turn right out of the hotel and head out of the square and its just across the road). Here you can get a croissant or pastry and coffee for about 5 euros.

All the sights are within easy walking distance of the hotel, so it's easy to pop back for a rest during the day! We found Bruges to be very expensive to eat, especially for a lunchtime snack, however we found a takeaway/cafe called Panos along Zuidzandstr. just up from from the square with the Concert Hall. You can get a drink and filled baguette for about 5 euros and eat in or out. Evening meals we had at Gulden Vlies in the road behind the hotel (set menus good value) and La Cantina (good Italian)in Philipstockstr. (right out of hotel). I'd certainly consider staying here again if we're back in Bruges.
