Stayed in the hotel for 4 nights during the NYE celebrations in Bruges. The hotel was in a word basic. We booked a 'Large double' room, we got a large room but not a double. I do not consider 2 single beds pushed together to be a double!!! The beds were at different heights and were both at an angle making it a very uncomfortable and infact painful stay. The room wasnt the cleanest either and was not hoovered at all during our 5 day stay. Curtains had mould growing on them. The breakfast was ok, not much to choose from. The staff, were happy to help if you needed them but other than that did not bother to communicate with you. When checking out, we were not even asked if we enjoyed our stay or have a safe trip, just presented with the invoice! The only thing going for this hotel is the location!
I would not stay here again and would not recommend to anyone.

The hotel was lovely and sweet from the outside, reception small but personal, dining room ok and bar area lovely. Bedroom was ok, just off the 1st floor up some stairs, the double bed however was like being on a helter skelter, kept falling off in night as it was lopsided. ended up in single bed. no air con which would have been nice. Advertised as haing full english breakfast as well....not so, continental. food was ok tho. got a cheap deal for room and eurostar. really loved bruges and the hotel didn't spoil it, but wouldn't stay for more than a cuople of nights. Hotel was clean.

I've never left a negative hotel review before (maybe I have low standards) but it's only fair to warn others what to expect. I really wished I'd read some of the reviews on here first.

The room was described as a 'small twin / double' room. A more accurate description would be 'a small, dismal part of the attic, boxed off with a two single beds crammed into the corner. Please note - putting a double bed into a room does NOT make it a 'double room'.any more than squeezing a cow into your garden shed makes it a dairy farm.

One entire side of the room was the sloping inside of the roof, so one had to get into bed on the other side, and then roll across. Imagine slicing off the top eight feet of one of the Great Pyramids...that space pretty much resembles the shape of our room.

Directly outside the hotel are a couple of late night bars which are actually great places to visit in the day and evening (Cafe De Kuppe, for example). However at around midnight they seem to become host to the 'Shout as loudly and as incoherently as you can' competition. This intriguing contest tended to go on until around 2am where a brief hiatus provided us with a small window in which to finally get off to sleep. But fear not - this blissful interlude of silence was brought to an end at around 2:30am when one of the venues started playing extremely loud dance music up until 6:30am. And I mean loud. Simply impossible to sleep. Note to Belgian music producers - your music all sounds the same when sampled through the sloping roof of a hotel.

All this to a backdrop of motorbikes and scooters racing up and down the street, an array of large vehicles inexplicably arriving and departing, and to the bar staff who eventually switched off the music and then started moving the metal tables and chairs by dragging and throwing them across the cobbled streets. I never imagined that the marriage of metal chairs and cobbles could be so noisy.

If you go to Bruges with the aim of getting as drunk as possible (so that you will sleep through anything) or to sample some of the more chemically enhanced dance venues (so that you won't need to sleep) or just to enhance your Loud Midnight Shouting skills, then this is a great place to stay. If you like things like sleep, avoid it like the plague.

Ps staff were quite nice.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with four walls, a floor and ceiling based on the concept of the 'box'

While location was Central, it was outweighed by the fact the noise was appalling! Room we were in was a corner attic so was not even a full room. Had to stoop to get into bed!!! Felt wasn't in a full room. Clubs and pubs were to loud until six am and locals didn't care about noise. Building seemed old and could do with some tlc. Only saving grace was the staff were lovely and happy to help

We stayed two nights during spring. It has an excellent location, close to the city center, bus stations, etc. We received the best service from the girls at the reception. A complete and delicious breakfast is served. Our room was beautiful, spacious and clean. It's a lovely hotel, tranquil, with a classic and simple decoration.

Room Tip: We were assigned a confortable four beds room with a very nice view.

A great hotel in a central spot. Ideal if you want to stay somewhere within walking distance to all the tourist and sightseeing spots. Friendly staff, comfortable room and a wide selection for breakfast. Highly recommended and we will be staying here again on out next visit.
