“Perfect location for a hotel for Christmas Market”
Reviewed 6 December 2012

Excellent 3 night stay with plans to do lots of shopping at Christmas market. Market a huge disappointment----lots of cheap tatt and no real crafts for sale. Not that many stalls either. Hotel location made up for this with everything being within easy walking distance, chocolate and lace shops within a few steps of the hotel. Picasso exhibition very much worth a visit. Had "attic" room with amazing views over lovely roof tops and into the main square. Bathroom v good with ample bath and good shower. Would have liked a kettle in the room for early and late tea and coffee.Breakfasts great---no need for lunch!! Staff friendly and helpful. Drove there from Calais and good , if somewhat pricy, underground parking. No need for car in Brugge at all.Would definitely choose this hotel if in Brugge again.

Room Tip: Room 407 in attic has lovely views over town and into square.

This hotel is situated right by the Belfry Tower and within easy walking distance of lots of great sights. The room was decent and breakfast was good. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who is off to this beautiful city.

I would actually call it a good hotel, it's above average but has a few issues to stop it being very good. The location is excellent and the staff are friendly and helpful. WiFi is free which is good and the breakfast was very comprehensive, there is an underground car park below the hotel at 25 Euro per day. The rooms are fine maybe a little small and only a shower in the bathroom, although no shower caps provided. I would of liked tea and coffee in the room as an extra touch. The most annoying point was the very strict room only ready at 3pm and then having to be out of the room at 11am.

Hotel very well situated for the Old city, its markets, museums and splendid buildings. The roadways are narrow and the coach had difficulty in reaching the front door. Hotel rated 3 star, more like 4 star. clean, accomodating, and the breakfast superb. Stairs could be a problem with elderly and disabled persons. It is a busy tourist hotel but staff were friendly and helpful, will choose this again. No complaints at all from our coach party.

Room Tip: Limited rooms that offer a view. But they are clean and tidy, no tea making facilities. Poor access...

Booking through Eurostar went very smoothly. Although probably not the cheapest way to go you couldn't fault the facilities. The only problem we had was that we were on the ground floor and there isn't much of a view apart from people walking past in the street and at the moment there are major road works so the noise was a bit of a pain as they started drilling about 7.30am. I think if we had complained thy would've moved us but overall the room was a good size and we couldn't face the hassle. When one of the chairs broke they came and replaced it immediately (neither of us are over weight or were up to anything untoward!) We didn't eat there but the breakfast's looked very substantial and varied.

Overall it was a good place to stay, very central and very accessible.

Hotel rooms compact but clean with top of the range bathroom fittings. The wifi is free but remember to get the details at the front desk. Its a few minutes walk to the Christmas markets and there are plenty of places to eat and drink nearby. We drove here and parked at the central train station (3.50 euro for 24 hours) and got the free bus into the city, although it only takes about 15 minutes to walk there. We preferred to get breakfast at a nearby bakers as it worked out a lot cheaper so we can't comment on that.
We thought the rooms were a little expensive for what you got, but the prices for all hotels seemed high here.

This hotel couln't be more central minutes from the Mark and the canal.

Room was clean. Beds comfortable.

Breakfast buffet was extensive and all of good quality.

There was some street noise as we faced the front of the hotel but nothing more than you expect in a city centre hotel. It was probably louder than it should have been as we had the window open as the room was mysteriously warm for November despite the radiator and air con being off.

As a bonus for the British traveller, the TV actually had a selection of UK channels. A pleasant break from the usual european hotel option of BBC news channel.
