“Good location helpful friendly staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 September 2013 via mobile

Excellent location only few minutes walk to the market square. Quiet location. Staff very friendly and helpful n multilingual. Breakfast was continental but they have made an effort to please every nationality with the buffet option including sliced bread & toaster for us Brits. Other options included fruit, yogurt, cereal, various meat & cheeses. Tea & coffee are available at breakfast however no facilities in the room to make yourself. We were. Aware of this before we booked but due to luggage restrictions decided not to take our travel kettle etc & found that our caffine fix at breakfast was enough as plenty of cafes around if we needed to top up (also gave us an excuse to use their toilets as most public toilets charge to use them). The room was a decent size and the bed comfortable. We had a shower in our ensuite however there were rooms with baths. The only negative points would be the room was very hot & u needed the window open to cool it down which then created a new problem of letting the Mosquitos in. Had we been aware if the Mosquitos in advance we would have come prepared with repellents and bite cream. The room did have a plug in repellant which we only found on the last 2 days which did help. A fan to hire at reception or in the room would be an improvement worth considering for the owners. Despite these minor problems we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

Recently stayed here for 2 nights with a mate whilst on a cycling trip in Belgium. On arrival we found that there was no where to securely leave the cycles and so asked if we could take them to the room. The staff were really friendly and agreed that we could.

Breakfast was good - all the usual continental things, and done to a reasonable standard - nothing hot though.

The staff on reception were very knowledgable about Brugge and were able to point us in the right direction for the historical and most unusual bars etc. Obviously it would have been rude not to have followed their advice and as a result we had a top couple of nights.

My wife and I are on a tight budget so we have had some surprises over the years with our holiday accommodation! The europe hotel was one of the nice surprises! It is in an excellent location to tour brugges from.also it is a 30 min walk or a 10 euro taxi ride from the train station. When you are there it is perfectly quiet ,surprising given its central location.it is one of the few places that I have holidayed at and not needed earplugs to achieve peace.the rooms are clean and the beds comfy.the decor is a little tired but you are here to get out and about not stare at the walls.the buffet breakfast is adequate ,choice is limited however there is something for everyone and it's all top quality.the staff are very attentive giving tour advice, maps and even free loan coats and umbrellas if needed.i have stayed in worse places and paid a lot more.book the europe hotel now before the secrets out and the price reflects its quality.

We arrived early on Tuesday morning straight off the ferry so we knew we would be too early to go into our room. But the receptionist was very helpful and said we could leave our luggage until 2.30 pm. We did just that and had a look round Bruges before returning to the hotel where we were told our room was ready. The hotel is reasonably priced and great for using as a base the staff were all helpful and friendly. Continental breakfast well presented and most acceptable. I would recommend the Europ Hotel to anyone wanting a cheap friendly hotel used as a base in Bruges. The whole experience was most favourable.

A nice Hotel. Centrally located not too far from the sights. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Room was a bit basic but clean and the bed was very comfortable. I would suggest taking a travel kettle, cups and some tea/coffee as there are no tea making facilities in the room.
All in all a good value budget Hotel. I would stay there again.

This small 2 stars hotel is located about 6 minutes relaxed walk from the 'MARKT SQUARE' , and therefore less expensive : around 90.- euros for the two of us incl. brkfst .
We got room # 39 0n the first floor : Very spacious , big bathroom , two large windows looking over a small bridge , facing south and letting a lot of light in (and sun heat as well) , äntique decor (dark and heavy) , bed too soft for me but great to my wife's requirements , and .....no aircon.!!!! ( We opened both windows when returning to our room in the evening and let the breeze cool us ) , Almost all small 2/3 * hotels , even in Brussels - have no aircon ..
Buffet breakfast was o.k. : No omlettes - only hard boiled eggs , not a vegetable (tomatoe, cucumber, letuce ) - in sight , coffee and pastery good and fresh . Dining room gets too crowded when most of guests are down for brkfst at the same time , and it is really hard to get out of your chair if you want to get somthing from the buffet counter .
We stayed at the Hotel Europ for several nights . I took the liberty of peeking into some of the other 28 rooms in the hotel : Room # 49 is the one room you want to stay in Hotel Europ : On the second floor ,spacious like # 39 , with a much modern and light colours decor . Other rooms for two are much smaller and they have a few larger rooms for three and four guests .
All staff members of the hotel are very attentive and polite and try to cater to all your requests,
Natasha in particular
50 meters from the hotel there is a lovely bar/pub (Pimuss?) and another 30 meters further down the street a first class resaurant ( Tom's Diner ) - you can read about it in my review
.
We have enjoyed very much our romantic and calm stay in Bruges spacially at the Hotel Europ.

Room Tip: R ooms facing south get the sun all day , and may get hot during summer . but the wiew of the bridge...

I was traveling by train with three female relatives. We spent one night in Bruges and wish we had spent longer. The town is very old and has many historic buildings. This hotel fit well into the scenery. It is tastefully decorated and we had two sets of large windows that overlooked the canal on the second floor. We had a wonderful breakfast in their dining area also.

Room Tip: If the rooms aren't all overlooking the canal, choose one that is.
