It was now I think the 3th time that we spent a weekend and this lovely hotel. Every time we went we stayed in another well decorated and romantic room. The service is really excellent, the reception staff is very friendly - again the restaurants that they suggested were great.
As the weather conditions were very good, we had the occasion to eat are breakfast at the Canal site. Hope returning soon!

Booked a "Luxury Double room" here for 3 nights, to celebrate our 45th Wedding Anniversary. There was certainly a double bed in the room and no room for anything else! You had to squeeze sideways to get round the bed. The décor was poor and the safe in the wardrobe wasn't even bolted down. I could lift it out! The shower in the tiny en-suite, kept falling off the wall. It was a huge disappointment and not what we expected from the tripadvisor reviews or the hotel information. Having complained immediately, we were informed that there were no other rooms available and no-one on the staff seemed all that bothered. Being late in the day, we had to spend one night there and when no further help to solve the situation was forthcoming, we found a superb hotel elsewhere in the town, despite having paid for the three nights. No mention of a refund of any sort. I'm sure there are lovely rooms in the hotel from the pictures on the website. We just didn't get one, so BEWARE!!

Room Tip: make sure that it corresponds to one of the ones they show on the website!

Thank you for the feedback about your recent stay.

We are disappointed reading such a review because we did all the efforts to give you a pleasant stay.

We offered you another room for the next day because the hotel was fully booked when you checked-in, but you refused.

Furthermore, you made a reservation '' Non- refundable rate'' which means that a refund is not possible and this is mentionned on your booking confirmation.

I hope next time, we can welcome you back in our hotel.

We loved the location and the beautiful breakfast. But for us, the clincher was that the hotel's staff was incredibly helpful when my husband became ill. For us, it illustrated the advantage of being in a hotel in such a situation, but especially this particular hotel with its very attentive staff.

Location is essential when spending a weekend in a city such as Bruges. The hotel had valet parking so were able to just drive into the centre and hand it over.
Overlooking the canal and right into the middle of town so perfect for dropping back during the day which we find essential!
Comfortable room, a little faded but preferable to a modern box, comfortable armchairs in room which are all to rare these days, good service and breakfast.
A perfect base for a couple of days sightseeing.

Our first visit: This hotel offers a charming travel experience since it mirrors the unique, medieval character of Bruges. Our delightful room, although smaller than we anticipated, overlooked a narrow, quiet, cobblestone street, and we would not have wanted it any other way. The experience is truly like going back in time: We would conclude the day's sight seeing by sipping champagne in front of the fire place adjacent to the lovely candle lit dining room, overlooking the canal with swans serenely gliding by. In the morning, we treated ourselves to the opulent, lux breakfast, so exquisitely presented. The capable staff was consistently gracious and hospitable.

Room Tip: Several reviews here recommend a room facing the canal, but we actually prefer a room on any level...

Our stay at the hotel was the best experience we have enjoyed for a long time. The hotel is set in a perfect location, beautifully furnished and the most delightful staff. Nothing is too much trouble. Valet parking was superb and efficient.

We will certainly be back for another wonderful weekend in Bruges.

Room Tip: Go for a luxury room

Bruges is such a lovely city and this deserves staying in a great Hotel. This was our first visit and we could not have asked anything more of the hotel. We used the 'Sweet Dreams' package which included an excellent breakfast each morning, a gastronomic dinner one evening and afternoon tea on the terrace one afternoon. All madly enjoyable, excellent service. We had a room overlooking the canal which was very comfortable. The hotel is very central with all the sites within easy walking. We were slightly disappointed one evening when we wanted wine and cheese served in the bar area - they would only serve us in our room which we found very unusual. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: ask for a room overlooking the canal

The winter garden lounge with its views on the “trompe l’oeil” Italian gardens is a haven of rest and tranquillity in fresh white and light-greyish colours.
