We cannot speak highly enough of this hotel. A very warm welcome with great service. Clean comfortable room and beautiful breakfasts with a very relaxed atmosphere. A very pleasant 10-15min walk into town but bus right outside if you need it and it goes straight to the station as well.
We would not hesitate in recommending it and after travelling around for 7 weeks this would be our top choice.

My girlfriend and I recently spent two very enjoyable nights at this hotel which prides itself, and delivers, on customer service and personal attention to detail. An example of this was the fact that we had booked a room (with a delightful canal view) as part of a short break in Bruges to celebrate my 50th birthday, but I made no mention of this fact when making the reservation or when checking in at the hotel and presenting my passport (containing my date of birth) for routine inspection. It therefore came as a pleasant surprise the following morning to receive birthday greetings while making my way towards a tastefully decorated breakfast room. The breakfast buffet was extensive and attractively presented with something on offer to suit most tastes. We chose to walk to the hotel from the train station which took us around 25-30 minutes, and the centre of Bruges is, at most, only 10 minutes away on foot. The hotel is well located for seeing all the main sights without needing to use public transport, and it feels very safe walking in the area after dark. The hotel is rated as a three star, and whilst we would tend to stay mostly at four star hotels, on this occasion we were confident after reading earlier reviews that Hotel Ter Duinen would be at the top end of what one might reasonably expect of a three star establishment, and that was certainly our experience.

Room Tip: Worth paying a little extra for a room with a canal view.

Great service and breakfast. Friendly service, small clean rooms and great breakfast!!! Though it is a bit of a walk from the city center. Good if you like to be on a quiet street, but be ready to walk ~15 min or take the bus.

Room Tip: Ask for a river facing room. Worth the extra few euros

We have just spent a couple of days in this hotel, which we chose on the basis of the overall comments on this site and we were very pleased with our choice.
The hotel is located near the town centre, within walking distance (10 mn), however without any sound nuisance from the town. Driving to the city centre is therefore not necessary and we parked our car in a nearby garage made available by the hotel.
Guests are most welcome and the hotel owners are very nice. The hotel is decorated with fine furniture offering a cosy and warm atmosphere. We enjoyed our confortable room (and bed) as well as air conditioning made necessary by the hot temperatures (+30°c).
Breakfast offers a wide variety of foods and was excellent.
We will definitely book this hotel again in the future when vacationing in the area.

We had a lovely stay at this lovely hotel in beautiful Brugge.
The room was in the roof space but this just added to the simple elegant style of the decor. The view from the roof windows was amazing overlooking the canals and surrounding houses.
The room was clean and just enough space for the four of us ( 2 adults and 2 teenage kids). The bathroom was clean, the only downside was here as there was no shower curtain for the overhead shower above the bath and no high point to rest the shower head on. Other than that our stay was perfect.
The breakfast was spot on with fresh fruit, rolls, cereals and more.
There is a gorgeous little retreat at the back of the hotel, a room with lovely seating and old signed guestbooks and magazines to peruse with a small garden backing onto it.....very peaceful.
However it were the staff that were a gem in this place, they were courteous, helpful and a delight to talk to, their English excellent ( just as well as our flemish was not good!)
The location was good, a 10/15 minute stroll takes you into the Central MArket Sqare, a very scenes walk along the canal. But if you tired, the bus stop into the square is just a few yards from the hotel and you can even purchase your tickets from the front desk.
Excellent hotel, excellent service.
We will be going back.

I stayed here with my daughter and a friend on a three week European trip and this was definitely the best place we stayed. Beautiful hotel, great location on the canal, good breakfast and incredibly warm and friendly service. Really felt like a home away from home. We had a spacious triple room on the top floor--very cozy. I'm the type of person that likes to try out new places, but I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in Bruges--Hotel ter Duinen is just too perfect!

The place to explore from Brugge or for a stop over (quiet, great breakfast and safe parking). For those who go for personal class instead of wellknown chain hôtel , but difficult to find.
