We come to Brugge every year arround easter, and practice a little sports with our tandem. We really enjoyed our 48hours stay this year for the second time at Ter Duinen; mainly for 2 reasons: the hotel is very well placed (3min from the beffroit in the town center). The rooms are quite, spacious and very nicely ("softly") decorated. The second reason for us to come back, is the breackfirst : bread, cofee, fresh orange juice ...shopped fruits, croissants, egg ...the whole whithin a wounderfull quiet and relaxing climate served by absolutely top class staff people..you know, being served by the hotel manager himself gives you a feel of being important to them ...they care about your stay, they advise you for what is up this weekend, ...This time we were told to bike until Damme (!) ...but what a nice advanture ...We can only recommend it ....And we'll be back arround easter 2011 !!!!

My wife and I stayed at this hotel over Easter and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The location, about 15 minutes from the centre of town was ideal for us as we liked to walk and explore different routes between the two. Importantly to us the location was quiet and very safe to walk at any hour. The hosts were extremely friendly and sincere in the regular advice support we received during our stay. It reminded us of a first class bed and breakfast establishment. Our room overlooking the canal, while tiny was adequate for our needs. The appointments were modern and the room was very clean and well serviced. The breakfast room/lounge and bar was very quaint and provided a very homely atmosphere. The included breakfast was the traditional continental and satisied our requirements. Our research showed that there were cheaper hotels in the city, some more central, but we opted for this one based on the extensive positive Trip Adviser reviews. We will stay again.

we had high expectations based on the reviews we studied before making the reservations. And we can honestly state that we made the right decision. The hotel is close to city center within a leisurely stroll or by bus. Going in the other direction you are at the docking station of the Damme excusion boat.
The hotel itself is a charme with big rooms - at least the one we had on the first floor - that came with a table and chairs to relax and/or work. The only missing item was a curtain around the tub. A minor deail. Oh, and the parking is pricey. But there is public parking nearby. We left our car at the train station parking (€2.50 per day!).

Downstairs you find a beautiful lounge area, almost like a wintergarden. And best of all, you can get an afternoon coffee and tea or a glass of wine and a beer. An inviting area after a day sightseeing in the city. Ajoining you'll find the breakfast room overlooking the garden and the canal. Breakfast is ample with a wide selection.

Did I mention that the owner and the staff are very accomodating and supporting?

And yes, we will be back if our travels bring us back to the Vlaanders.

This was our third trip to Bruges and we have stayed at Ter Duinen each time. Simply because why go anywhere else when you receive such a warm welcome here. The rooms are really comfortable, the decor is stylish and the breakfast is superb. What really makes a difference is that the staff and owners go out of their way to make sure you have a good experience. When we go back to Bruges we will definitely stay at Ter Duinen again. We've recommended the hotel to family who have also stayed and had a good time.

3 of us stayed here when taking part in de Ronde-tour of Flanders bike ride., The staff at the hotel could not have been more helpful preparing a special breakfast for us on the day of the 260km ride as we had an early start. We were even allowed to use their own private garage for our bikes and were given some great advice to get the best out Brugge. We will be backe next year I hope!

Warm and friendly, nice location (approx. 15 min. walk from the Markt), small(ish) but comfortable room, a very nice breakfast with boiled egg, sliced ham and salami, rolls, croissant, toast and jams and more and very friendly and welcoming hosts made us wanting to come back.
Annoying to have to hold the shower in your hand when you take a shower though.

We literally just got back and I felt the desire to post a review straight away. The hotel's location is great, only about 10 minutes of leisurely stroll to the main square, in a quiet area by the canal. And it's so peaceful at night! The room was lovely, we had a small balcony and the courtyard view. The beds are comfortable, bathroom is nice, everything is clean and looked after, can't really find a fault even if I tried (and I am normally quite fussy). But the best thing of all are the hotel owners, they really go out of their way to make you feel welcome and looked after. As soon as you walk into the breakfast room, they will immediately try their best to get you a table by the window. Freshly squeezed orange juice arrives the moment you sit down. A great selection of fresh fruit, cheeses, salamis, and not of the cheap variety... We asked whether any supermarkets were open as it was Easter. The owner actually went and phoned them all to find out the opening times. Then he explained in great detail how to get there and then back to a motorway, so we didn't get lost. And on the checkout, a little pouch with Belgian chocolate eggs, added a really nice touch (although this was probably just an Easter treat). We loved Bruges very much and will definitely be returning there and of course, to Ter Duinen. Many thanks for making us feel so welcome. The one thing though, forgot to ask what Ter Duinen meant in Flemish?
