We were more than happy with our stay here. Ideally situated about a three minute walk from the train station (once you've found your bearings, we got lost on our way in!) and about ten minutes from Markt, the main square. Plenty of cafes, restaurants and shops right on the doorstep, plus De Halve Mann Brewery is about two minutes away. Directly beside lake Minnewater, it is in an idyllic setting slightly aside from the main hustle and bustle but handy to everything you could want.
Looks lovely from the outside and the lobby and breakfast area are beautifully characteristic. Breakfast was good: selection of cheeses and cold meats, cereal, fruit salad, bacon and eggs and a selection of bread and pastries plus your orange juice, tea and coffee. Only drawback was our room (10), I was expecting it to be individually decorated and characteristic following the rest of the decor but it was a little lack lustre. Very plain colour scheme and the sofa particularly was a little tired and threadbare looking. Don't get me wrong it was spacious and very comfortable! Overall a great hotel at a reasonable price, would stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Egmond. The location is perfect, particularly if you intend to take some day-trips away from Bruges by train as it is very close to the station as well as to the town. Also, as it's just on the edge of Minnewater park, it is a very peaceful and pleasant place to stay away from the hustle and bustle. The buffet breakfast is excellent, with a range of fresh pastries, bacon and eggs, tea, coffee, cereal and bread. The only drawback is that they don't open the breakfast room until 8:30, so if you have a very early start you may have to miss out. If you're lucky, on your way to breakfast you may also get a morning greeting from the owners' two very friendly spaniels, which was an enjoyable bonus for us!

The hotel is an old building and quite small (only 8 rooms), so all the rooms appear to be quite different depending on space etc. but our room was fairly spacious, although the bathroom was very small and the shower head could have done with an extra clean. This didn't detract from the overall good experience of the hotel though.

Overall this is a great family-run place which is a nice change from the more synthetic big hotel brands. Good value too.

this hotel has a great location -- a short walk from railway station (so long as you don't get lost, which we did!) and a short walk into the center of beautiful Bruges. The croissants at breakfast are really, really good.

room 7 is -- fine. the bed linens looked a bit tired and the furniture a bit bare bones, but really -- this isn't intended to be a luxury palace. the bathroom was very nice, although i did have a short, violent struggle with the shower hose the first morning.

We went to this hotel on the recommendation of a friend, so we didn't do our usual TA check. HUGE mistake! While our friends had a lovely room, we were assigned room 8. It was pretty small, but we could adapt, except for the bathroom. It is worse than a camper bathroom, about 5' x 5' and made of a single piece of plastic. The shower drain is a hole in the floor. But the worst part was the smell - absolutely disgusting! It makes me wonder about the rest of the hotel. The people at the desk were defensive and claim that we should have known, but it was so bad that we left, even though they charged us for the night. I would give this a minus rating if I could!

The hotel is an excellent choice: its locality, service, cleanliness and its charm. It is both secluded enough to make you experience the natural charm of Brugges and close enough to restaurants and shops, a few minutes walk. Our Brugges' experience was very much enhanced by the Egmond.

Room Tip: Try to book Room # 2: it's the only room that has direct access to the charming yard and garden...

Stayed here for 3 days and didnt want to leave. A really lovely hotel, tucked away in a quiet area in Bruges but yet within a ten minute walk to the main square. The room was lovely and looked out onto the garden, lovely to hear the birds singing in the morning. Breakfast was very fresh and the staff were very efficient, could not fault the place at all, would most definitely stay there again, Thank you for a great few days,

Well done Hotel Egmond, lovely hotel in a beautiful location at the edge of the Minnewater park and away from the hustle of downtown Bruges. It's just a short walk to the town centre with all its various attractions, restaurants and bars. Good breakfast and you can take your coffee out into the garden if the weather allows. There is private parking (which you pay for) but the manager was very laid back and we paid only for the one night's parking despite arriving early on day one and leaving late on day two. I would also recommend the restaurant Le Postijlon on Kateijnestraat as you're going into town, cheap and very cheerful!
