We liked this hotel. Yes, reading other reviews, I agree it is a bit dated and the plastic shower cubicles have seen better days. The decor could do with some updating and, with some nice paint etc, it could make a really nice boutique hotel. I would suggest replacing the shower cubicles with free standing baths as I have seen in other Bruges guesthouses.
Good points - secure parking onsite (although inexplicably £10 per night), nice big room (number 5) overlooking the garden/park, comfy bed, good breakfast (self service), friendly dogs.
Could be better - aforementioned shower cubicle which, although clean, was a little grubby with age, no tea/coffee facilities in room (did have them downstairs).
What ruined it for us though was the noise, not outside (birds singing, lovely) but inside due to poor acoustics. We appreciate it is an old building so some noise is to be expected but on our final night a couple arrived late and proceeded to crash and bang around in their room, tv blaring, shouting at each other until 3am. When I mentioned this to the guy in reception he just laughed and for this reason we won't be going back. The proprietors in general seemed very pleasant but his reaction was just plain rude.
