“A great family choice!”
Reviewed 25 August 2012

Our family of four stayed at this hotel for one night - we drove from Calais (very easy). On arrival we were greeted by the manager Paul who had arranged off street secure parking for us - great when you have a car full of staff for a 3 week trip!! We had a family room.... two rooms with inter-connecting doors which was great as we all had our own space!! Very easy walk into Bruges and Paul supplied maps and information. This hotel is located in a very quiet street about 10 minutes stroll from the centre of Bruges. Rooms were absolutely spotless. Breakfast was fine - cereal, fruit and various cold meats / cheeses. This is an excellent choice for families, very reasonably priced and we would definitely stay again.

I originally found this great hotel using TA and it was as good as everyone had posted. Wendy & I were not disappointed. The top attribute for this hotel was the friendly staff and the host Paul, who could not do any more for us. Vegemite was even supplied for the us!! We stayed for 4 nights. The room we had although basic, was clean and spacious. Location was terrific and the individual lock up accomadation was superb for the hire car. A word of warning, street parking is limited.

This is a place for riding bicycles. Bicycles have right of way everywhere. Make sure you check out the local bars and restaurants (not in the square). Paul will help you with this.

We found plenty of things to do in the four days. A must do is the tour to Flanders Fields, The Battlefields of WW1 with Quasimodo tours. The market on Wednesdays are great for trying some cooked up delights and take the time to explore some of the areas around Bruges.

We were so excited for our trip Brugges, that I fretted for months over the hotel. Trip Advisor, as usual, proved to be invaluable. We could not have been more thrilled with The Fevery...a sweet spot on a quant and quiet street, just a few minutes walk to the bustling town center. The rooms are spotless and the beds very comfortable. The bathroom was actually large by European standards...and everything was updated. Paul is beyond nice and helpful and steered us in all the right directions, not to mention, made us the PERFECT boiled egg every morning. There is no reason to pay more for a hotel in Brugges...we would absolutely stay here again.

Room Tip: We rented bikes one day and rode out in the countryside...simply gorgeous!

This hotel is quaint and comfortable. The owners are incredibly helpful. The breakfasts were delicious. Very good location. While our 2 teenage boys stayed here, we stayed in the B & B next door (owned by the same people). We were allowed to all eat breakfast here together, which was very nice.

Stayed here for a night, on a stop-over in Brugge.

We arrived quite lite (23:00), as we were delayed in heavy german traffic, but the owner stayed up and waited for us, arranged for secure parking (we were storing bikes in our car), and showed us to our room.

The room was nice and clean, and faced a quiet backyard. However it was nothing special apart from that.

We haf breakfast the next morning which consists of bread/rolls with various spreads, and the option for bolied egg and cereals.

The owner was very helpful and polite.

Due to our short stay I cannot be more specific on pros and cons, however we found everything we experienced good.

Location- on a quiet street with easy access on foot or by vehicle (they offer secure parking), only a few blocks from the main square with restaurants within a 1-3 block area, a supermarket and an apothecary only a block away.
Rooms - spotlessly clean, charming, very comfortable, modern bath with great lighting for make-up application and a full tub with shower. Our room had a wonderful view over the city and even a little balcony!
Public areas - lovely breakfast room with wall window on small garden and attractive sitting room area for afternoon tea with local tourist information
Food and drink - Breakfast is delicious and very complete - juices, breads, a choice of jams, fruits, cereals, yogurt, tea, coffee, and you are always offered a freshly cooked egg! Tea and coffee with little cookies are offered every afternoon, and one can purchase a glass of wine or whiskey at any time.
Management and staff - I cannot say enough about these wonderful people! They really bend over backwards to help you in any way. When our rental car window shattered due to a manufacture error (the repair person said it happened before on this model), one of the employees took responsibility for meeting the repair person, clean-up, etc. so that we could use the time to see the city - even though the repair person had to come twice! But the real gem here is the manager Paul! His advice about what to see (and in what order), which places we might want a guide (and which one) or not, and where to eat (Tom's Diner-not a diner at all- and La Forestiere) were right on every time! In addition, he went way beyond expectations in helping us in a very difficult situation. Unfortunately, my husband was mugged in Bruges (this is almost unheard of in this city - so don't hesitate to go!), and when we returned from the hospital late at night, Paul met us, insisted on soaking our blood-stained clothing overnight and laundering them the next day, giving me gratis a much-needed glass of wine, didn't complain about the police waking him up even later at night to give him a copy of their report for us, and provided tea and cookies for us and the police each time they came to talk with us! Paul even refused a tip from us for his exemplary service. Just a word, too, about the other wonderful people in Bruges - many came running and offered assistance when they heard my screams, and the owners of the restaurant where we had dined and the muggers had beers did their own snooping and identified one mugger for the police. (BTW, that restaurant was one Paul had not mentioned.) Care at the hospital was caring, efficient, and FREE!
