“Quiet oasis in the city”
Reviewed 30 April 2014

I think it is a must-see in Bruges for the historical relevance as well as the serene quiet in the middle of a bustling tourist city

“Charming swans”
Reviewed 25 April 2014

Loved the gardens and general sense of peace. Swans floating in the outer pond present fair warning of a calm and peaceful place within the beguinage walls. A lovely respite for the congested tourist streets of brugge.

“Gods houses”
Reviewed 24 April 2014

This was a small walled community inhabited by nuns within the city of Brugges. A peaceful place, apart from all the tourists!

“Well worth an extra few minutes of walking - tranquil and beautiful.”
Reviewed 23 April 2014

Interesting to see how women lived and now live in this city within a city. A surprising island of quiet and peace in a city that is overflowing with tourists. Interesting to read about the history of this settlement of women only.

“Peaceful area with a fascinating history”
Reviewed 23 April 2014

It was very pleasant to escape (some) of the crowds and to look around this ancient area which has had a religious purpose for 700 or so years. A place for calm and reflection. Worth a visit
