Owner description: The 115 metres high brick tower of the Church of Our Lady is a perfect illustration of the craftsmanship of Bruges' artisans. The church displays a valuable art collection: Michelangelo's world-famous Madonna and Child, countless paintings, 13th-century painted sepulchres and the tombs of Mary of Burgundy and Charles the Bold.

“Major restoration being carried out”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 June 2014

There is major restoration being carried out and would like to visit it again when the work is complete. It is however well worth a visit to see the Michelangelo Statue of Madonna and Child. The only known Michelangelo piece to leave Italy during his lifetime. Only 2 euros to see the statue.

“Must see Michelangelo's Madonna”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 June 2014

Even with the renovations at the moment the chance to see Michelangelo's Madonna and Child just can't be missed. She's smaller than I expected but just exquisite. Lots more to see in Our Lady's church as well, of course.

“A bit of a let down”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 June 2014

As other reviewers have said entry fee is only E2, but the reason a large area including the Burgundian tombs is closed off. The Madonna and Child statue was a little underwhelming. The carved woodwork and paintings were good. Other religious buildings in the city were much better and mostly free.

“Beautiful grounds”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 June 2014

I didn't venture inside, but spent some time wandering through the grounds and gardens and taking pictures. It is absolutely beautiful and worth your time, especially if you're in the area. This is located near the Half Moon Brewery (De Halve Maan) and another large canal as well.

“Magnificent”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 June 2014

It's a great stop. It cost 2 euro to get in, but seeing the Madonna and Child was worth it. It's not far from other attractions, so it's easy to add to your itinerary!
