Hotel Prinsenhof Bruges
Ranked #2 of 97 Hotels in Bruges
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 25 June 2011

We have stayed at the Prinsenhof Hotel on 6 occasions and each time we have found the proprietors, Thierry and Katrien Lemahieu, to be perfect hosts. the staff are most courteous and obliging in all areas of the hotel, the rooms are most tastefully decorated and their cleanliness is first class.

The Prinsenhof Hotel is ideally situated in a quiet street in Bruges and is very central for local shops and places of interest, including museums, concert hall, and the many excellent restaurants.

An especial mention must be made of the exceptional breakfast provided in The Prinsenhof, including a vast array of foods/drinks on offer, sufficient to satisfy the most discerning of gastronomes.

We really do rate this hotel most highly.

Room Tip: all the rooms are excellent !!

I would highly recommend the Hotel Prinsenhof to anyone visiting Bruges. From the first moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome. The room was beautifully appointed, large, quiet, and very clean. The breakfast selection was extensive. My partner was celebrating a milestone birthday and he was surprised to find a birthday note and gift in our room from the owners and the staff! Also, the owners were often at the front desk and they were as friendly and helpful as the rest of the staff. I've travelled for decades and the Prinsenhof was one of the most memorable hotels I've visited. A perfect stay in Bruges!

The hotel is perfectly located for exploring the historic center of the city on foot. (It isn't, however, within easy walking distance of the train station if you're carrying luggage; but it is a relatively short cab ride.) The hotel is clean, stately and elegant. Our newly remodeled room in the modern annex at ground level (it was great not to have to deal with the steep stairs in the main building) was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of seating and storage options. The bedside lights were not adequate for reading, but the bed and linens were top quality. The desk staff are all very warm and accomodating. The management comped our daily breakfast in appreciation of our 7-night booking, which was great. The breakfast room is lovely, the selection excellent, and the lady who runs it remembered our preferences every day. Bruges has an evocative atmosphere, and seven days was perfect for a relaxing visit. With our rail pass we made two day trips: one to Flanders Field Battlefield, and one to nearby Ghent. Lots of restaurant choices in Bruges; we will remember the wonderful Belgian waffles until we die!

Room Tip: request ground floor room; stairs are steep

Also a great location. Close to everything, but a little away from the busier areas. The free internet was very accessible. The customer service exceptional. We would recommend it.

Room Tip: Enjoy the new rooms out of the main building.

Faultless, Delightful reception staff, beautiful rooms, we had a great room on the top floor, within walking distance of everywhere you would want to go including the station just about. Would have no hesitation of recommending this hotel.
