Hotel Prinsenhof Bruges

I had to find a special hotel to celebrate a golden wedding anniv. with a wife who has Alzheimers - quiet, soothing, relaxing, comfortable, reassuring, outstanding customer service, relatively small, central. Prinsenhof ticked every box with attention to detail in every way. We were able to come back to the room to relax when she was stressed and she enjoyed outstanding quality/choice/quiet breakfasts to set the day off on the right footing. So any qualifications. Well we got upgraded rooms and free breakfast because of personal circumstances, so that affected 'value for money'. And we have used/reviewed about 50 places in past 3 years, many outstanding, but all approx half the price or less (our normal budget) - so I cannot say how this compares to others in this price range or lower priced accommodation in Bruges. But if you want the sort of experience we wanted and had, and are happy with this price range, I would recommend it unreservedly.

This is a small, luxury, boutique-style four star hotel about five minutes walk from Markt (which is the central square in Bruges). Attention to detail is paramount here. I could not think of anything that was lacking about the hotel or missing in the room itself. Staying here really enhanced a wonderful weekend in a beautiful city. My only criticism would be (this written with tongue firmly in cheek) that the champagne included in the hot and cold buffet breakfast was slightly too dry!

We stayed in this hotel at the end of July and we loved every aspect of it - the location, the quality and decoration of the room and hotel, the very good breakfast, the friendly and professional staff. We have to go back some time to this fairy.

My wife and I went for a long weekend break just after Easter this year (2013). It was bitterly cold but dry so after a good journey on the Eurostar and a busy local train to Brugge (beware the 1st class seats - they are the empty ones which your standard ticket does not cover :-) ), we decided to walk and stretch our legs. The hotel is a reasonable distance - which would have been very pleasant in normal temperatures! We stopped and had coffee and cakes on route; but still arrived chilled from the weather.
the Hotel Prinsenhof receptionist was really welcoming and greeted us in a pleasant warm reception area. She made booking in ever so easy and informed us of our room, meal times and answered questions about the town local restaurants for the evening.
We had help to take our luggage up to the room, and were shown all the facilities in the room. it was excellent to be greeted in such a "family" type friendly way. Nothing was too much for any of the staff especially at breakfast where the choice and service was out of this world.
The room had en-suite facilities - separate shower and fantastic spa bath with loads of hot water as well as TV and free Wi-Fi, also comfy chairs to read the information and plan what to go and see - such as chocolate museum or a walk round city seeing the sights.
We went out with the advice and map given and had a fantastic first afternoon evening - central location was fantastic - easy to walk to all main attractions - as we found out over the next couple of days.
All in all it might cost a little more than the cheapest possible; but you will get really special treatment that's worth millions in making a stay in Bruges really memorable :-)
Do enjoy your stay at this family styled hotel.

Room Tip: It's not a noisy location so all rooms are peaceful - go for what facilities you want - room wil...

The Prinsenhof is a small hotel perfectly situated in central Bruges. The hotel itself and the room was excellent. Nicely decorated, modern with a honest and genuine style. Hot outside - we loved the aircondition. What really made our day(s) was the staff at the reception who put a lot of effort in guiding us to the nicest places to see and the nicest restaurants which the local people loved. Breakfast was super. Parking space was safe and easy to access. We will come back to lovely Bruges and we will stay at the Prinsenhof again, for sure. We really felt as at home amongst these friendly people.

I booked this hotel through Secret Escapes as a present for my boyfriend's birthday. I had read the reviews for the hotel on trip adviser, all of which were so complimentary. I was not disappointed at all, i had asked for balloons and a bottle of champagne to be in the room on arrival, the balloons covered the whole bed (which was huge!) and the bottle of champagne was waiting, as promised, with two glasses. The room was immaculate, the hotel staff was so friendly and helpful, it just exceeded all expectations and we would recommend Bruges and this hotel to anyone.

Previous reviews are all correct. However, in order to write at least the minimum to get this submitted, will repeat the main points. Quiet central location, clean comfortable rooms, helpful friendly staff and extensive breakfast buffet. Definitely one for that special trip.
