We stayed in hotel ter reien for 3 nights this month (March), The frontoffice (reception) managers were very friendly and willing to give all kind of usefull information about Brugge. Room 114 in witch we sleeped has a very romantic sight on the canal (St .Annarei) from where you can see the old middle-age bridges and houses. Especially the morning- and eveninglight is beautiful ! So if you are a romantic soul stay there. The room is clean and big enough. The "bathroom" is tiny but very clean. The breakfast is various and more then enough. If we go for another stay in Brugge we surely will return to this hotel. Greeting to Vicky de Ridder frontoffice manager.

From the moment I called for the reservation, the hotel manager was courteous and helpful. She brought in an extra bed for our third child in the large family sized room. She helped us with directions, visit recommendations, and many other details that made the visit a pleasure. The hotel is clean, roomy, and has a view second to none.

We stayed at the hotel, in the much reviewed honeymoon suite. The room is, as others have said, small. The web-sites state that the room has satelite TV, but this really means 3 English channels and the rest German/French/Dutch etc. They also state that the room has a mini-bar - but it must be very mini as we couldn't find it! Had the hotel got a bar it wouldn't have been a problem.

The bathroom really has a view, both IN and OUT! It is necessary to draw the curtains and turn on the lights to use the room, unless you are an exhibitionist. The walk into the town is short, but not pretty. The area isn't the best in Brugue, and having stayed in the town before, I know there are nicer areas. The staff were friendly though.

The tour boats past the windows ARE a pain. Every 10-15 minutes, with a loudspeaker on most. They also took to pointing out that there was someone reading in the window and to wave (at me)!! The road is also quite noisy, and this lasts well into the evening.

Breakfast was lovely, probably the best bit of the hotel. Overall though I was dissappointed, I wouldn't stay here again. The noise of the boats and the road in high season really spoils the Hotel. Final word of warning, when we were there the drains smelt dreadful! However, locals told us that July and August are worse. I don't know if this is true, but when we have visited in May, October and November we have had no problems.

I have stayed in a few hotels in Bruges and this was by far the best. Very clean, excellent location and very friendly staff. We had the family room consisting of 2 single beds and a double. The room was enormous with plenty of room for the kids to stretch their legs. The bathroom had a bath and a separate shower but was a little too dimly lit for my tastes (not a major problem). My in-laws room was much smaller and had what can only be described as a "pod" bathroom which was very small but didn't seem to worry them too much. Considering that "en-suite" bathrooms are now almost compulsory, the hotel has done the best it can to accomodate a bathroom whilst leaving as much room as possible for the bedroom. The breakfast was excellent...very fresh although there was no apple juice (my kids love the stuff!!) As for Bruges itself, I never tire of the place. It is a must visit for anyone travelling in Europe. BTW, check out the ruins which have been excavated under the Crown Plaza hotel next to Burg. The hotel has made a nice feature of them and it costs nothing to go and have a look. Walk passed reception and go down the stairs.
