Very pleasant three-star ( ? ) hotel, attractive breakfast room, bijou bar, plenty of local information, etc, etc, We enjoyed three nights in April despite significant rain every day, but the first-floor room was rather small and the stairs to reach it, rather steep.

This was the first time I had visited Bruges as a city and chose this hotel after reading some of the reviews on this site so I hope this helps. Came here with my partner after booking through Cresta holidays. Cresta gave us an excellent deal on a three night stay including our Eurostar travel which is well worth looking into. I had booked the trip as a present so emailed the hotel in advance to see if it was possible to have a room overlooking the canal, which is was, and therefore the room had a gorgeous view. It is well worth contacting them before you go, they are most welcoming. The breakfast has a great selection - croissants, cereal, fruit, juices, hams, cheeses, eggs and the staff are friendly and polite. The hotel was clean and reserved but it was a pleasure to stay here. The only downside was the weather but I am sure that wasn't their fault!

Room Tip: Email in advance, rooms overlooking the canal are picturesque.

We chose this hotel because it was in a canal side location, had superior quality rooms available and garage parking. Overall the hotel offered exactly what we wanted - we chose superior rooms (and one deluxe with canal view) and these combined traditional decor and furniture with top quality modern fittings. Room 63 was the most atmospheric having beautiful beams. The location is just a few minutes from the town centre but such a quiet and beautiful location.

I am rating the hotel as 4 rather than 5 because of the breakfast. The food provided was good quality but lacked variety, for example in the range of meats and the choice of fruit.

One idiosyncracy of the bathrooms is that lack of full shower facility. This may be to keep a traditional feel but it certainly presents challenges!

Free internet available in the reception/bar area and worked successfully.

Second visit to this hotel and once again a great place to stay. Family run, so you get more individual service. Our 1st floor room overlooked canal, was a reasonable size and the bed was excellent. Bar had good selection of Belgian beers, although as usual more expensive than a locals' pub. Breakfast consisted of an extensive buffet, with delicious local eggs. This is our first choice hotel when staying in Bruges.

Just returned from 2 nights staying at Ter Brughe. If we go back to Brugge - it'll be our first choice.

No complaints. As I say it is: Clean, comfy, quiet and all the staff were really friendly and helpful almost acting as a tourist information person - they know times of buses, trains, help on restaurants, advice on what to do and where to go.

We had room 12; it was fine. Spacious enough and a comfy bed. Very quiet. You may hear the bath running / shower flowing and a bit of chat from room 11, but otherwise it was good.

Great breakfast - nice coffee, and yummy and plentiful food. A good point is that there was no darned 'background musac' any where; just peace and quiet and the ambiance of people chatting. Good point!

Probably best to enquire suitability if you struggle on steps. I don't think there is a lift and there are steps up from the road.

Location is good, 5 minutes from the town centre and 4 minutes to the bus stop from / to the train station.

Room Tip: Well, ours was 12 and we had no complaints - but there is, I think a potential of a bit of sound fro...

This hotel is a great find. The staff were very friendly and courteous and the room was clean and huge – although we did hear a couple complaining about not being able to get in their room as the bed was in the way – I think there are a variety of room sizes! The hotel is very Bijou and our room was on the top floor in the rafters – very nice too. The breakfast was euro-buffet style and very fresh and filling. Plenty of choice and cold cuts available. The hot chocolate was good (always a good sign in my book) and the usual trimmings.

This would be a regular stay for me if I had a choice.

Room Tip: I always try to book direct with a hotel if I can but when I called the proprietor he told me they w...

We booked 4 rooms for 8 of us for the Tour of Flanders. The staff were very friendly and accommodating - we needed to leave early on the first morning, so they offered to prepare our breakfast an hour earlier than is usually available. They had some great local tips for the town, and on the last day allowed us to leave our luggage (bags and bike bags) in one of the rooms until 3pm. Just great service all round.

Otherwise, rooms and general hotel interior were all very nice, and breakfast was top notch (especially for 8 hungry cyclists!). Location is also very convenient, being only a few blocks from the main square. We'd all definitely stay there again!
