We found this hotel on the internet while travelling through Europe. Very quaint hotel from 16th century, but renovated recently and all went very well. Friendly reception, good pricing, very clean with rustic charm especially in the breakfast room with old beams and on the canal. Very easy walk ( several short blocks from Central Square). Very quiet at night and safe to explore. Our kudos to Isabella on reception as she went out of her way to search the internet and help us print off our cruise tickets. The breakfast was very good and with enough variety to satisfy most appetites. The fresh perked coffee really hit the spot. Free internet access was a good plus.
We stayed two days but went to restaurants off the central square. The have "tourist prices" in the central square places but off the main square prices and food quality is much better.
There is a good Italian family restaurant on the corner as you walk toward central square. Very
good food and friendly service of a family Italian restaurant in a local neighbourhood.
Overall, a good stay in a quaint place with lots of history. We would certainly stay there again.More
