This hotel is a lovely old building. Very clean and beautifully furnished. The buffet breakfast was excellent. Staff very pleasant and helpful. 5-10 minute walk from the Markt square.

We have just returned from a week at the Hotel Ter Brughe, and cannot say enough about the charm, the cleanliness, the location...it was absolutely perfect. Our room overlooked the canal, large French Windows opened on to the sounds of the church bells and the waterfowl passing under the bridge with their newly hatched babies. We saw ducks, cormorants, swans and storks passing by while sitting in our extremely large and comfortable room. The hotel has a lovely outdoor garden where one can sit and enjoy the quiet and the plantings. Breakfast, included, is quite substantial, the hotel is within walking distance of most everything in the old city, and the staff provided us with a special treat for our wedding anniversary (chocolates from Brugge's premier chocolate shop!). We are already planning our return trip for next year.

Room Tip: There is no lift. Ask for a room on the ground floor, or be prepared to climb some narrow stairs.

My husband and I stayed in Hotel Ter Brughe for one night. Our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The hotel itself is loaded with character. You must read their booklet with the history of the building. Very interesting. Breakfast was more than ample. We met three different people at the front desk and they were all very welcoming and friendly. The location is quiet and only a short walk to town. We loved Brughe and will definitely stay at this hotel again!

This wonderful old hotel is in a lovely quiet spot in Brugge, next to a canal, away from the hub-bub of the centre but only a 10 minute walk at most from the action. The staff were friendly, and there is a garage to park your car although it is a little pricey at 20 euros a day, but it is convenient. The rooms were comfortable but I agree with Jon M, they do need better pillows! Be prepared for no shower curtains & no hairdryer. The breakfast was plentiful if unexciting. A very attractive hotel.

The Hotel Ter Brugge is a quiet option in this over touristed city. Situated next to a canal, it is a harming spot with water views and rooms that from a couple of centuries ago. They are quaint and cozy and comfortable. The bed was great although a fluffier pillow would have been nice. Bathroom was very clean with new fixtures and a nice long tub for bathing. You can open your windows onto the canal and the cool breezes flow into your room. The hotel is a short ten minute walk into the main square but take time to wander the back streets of this fascinating city. Breakfast was perfection and ample. A large breakfast here will last you until dinner. Staff was unobtrusive and efficient. Would return in a second.
