together with our usual travel friends we went to the xmas markets and stayed 3 nights in Ter Brughe, a quaint place with a nice homely feel, it was nicely decorated for the festivities. The breakfast room was very nice with a good choice . The rooms were comfortable and warm. The Hotel itself is located close to all the sites and good restaurants. The only down side was that the Hotel needs to retrain staff with regards to fire alarms. We heard a single sound that was not dissimilar to a car alarm it was only after about ten minutes so that we heard raised voices and realised it was a fire alarm. The hotel was evacuated very haphazardly. The Fire brigade checked it out and after about 15 minutes let us back in. That said it was a nice hotel worthy of a stay .

Beautiful location by the water, a short walk to the main tourist atractions. good service. Rooms are comfortable although a little old. Giod breakfast included, in a charming cellar. Will repeat for sure!

We stayed here for 2 nights in December to experience Bruge at Xmas. This hotel is a small charming character hotel in a nice location next to the canal and short walk into Bruge centre. We had a delux double which was down below with a small window almost at water level. It had vaulted ceilings but quite dark inside. Quite roomy with antique style wardrobe. There is a safe and mini bar, not that we ever use mini bars. The television is the small older type in the cupboard but of no use to us, channel wise. We normally like to watch BBC world news or Sky new, but this was really of no use. The bathroom had shower head over large bath, twin basins. The room was warm and cosy but a bit dark for me. Difficult to read in the lighting in the room. The breakfast was continental buffet of average standard. I found it quite limited and little fruit. The staff were efficient, polite but rather aloof. Bruge is a lovely place to soak up the atmosphere and walkable. We had a late flight so stopped off at Brussels and left our luggage in the lockers at Brussels Central station. The cost was €3.50 for medium locker for up to 24 hrs. We were then able to walk without baggage. I would recommend this hotel for the mid range character hotel but found some reviews rather generous with their comments.

Room Tip: Ask for light room as downstairs quite dark.

Stayed 2 nights. Had a very nice spacious, clean and comfy room. Would have liked a kettle for a cup of tea later at night, but apart from that, really enjoyed it.
Loved the breakfast room. Breakfast was very good and plenty of it.
We booked a garage for the car so we could put the car away for 2 days and forget about it. Note to future travellers - it's not a big garage!
As there is no elevator, note that the second floor has fairly steep stairs.
All in all, lovely little hotel.

Room Tip: If you have any doubt about your ability to climb stairs, ask for a lower level room.

Stayed here for 3 nights, had a lovely spacious room, clean and cosy. A warm welcome with friendly staff, and the breakfast room was great with lots of choice. A great location, didn't need a car as we walked everywhere. Had room 45 which was great as it was winter as it opened on to a courtyard, not sure if it would be noisy in the summer months. Arrived back early one evening and decided to have a drink in the lounge area, the man on reception had to get the drinks and it seemed a little 'awkward' as he had other duties to perform as well, again in the busy months the bar might be manned.

Our second stay at Ter Brughe and once again we were not disappointed. Staff were very welcoming and on check in even commented how nice it was to see us again. We had a lovely double room which was spotlessly clean. The breakfast room is lovely and has plenty of choice.
All in all we cant fault the hotel of the town. The Christmas markets were great and the chocolate shops even better.

Room Tip: We recommend the Bierbrasserie Cambrinus on Philipstockstraat 19, 8000 Brugge the portions are large...

My husband and I stayed at the Ter Bruge for our ruby anniversary on the 25th November and wasn't disappointed. The hotel is very charming with lots of character. We booked room 40 which juts out over the canal as this was recommended by soomeone on Tripadvisor. The room was very large with antique furniture and the bathroom very modern except for the hand shower. There was no tea/coffee facilities which we would have liked but really didn't miss in the end. Breakfast was served in the cellar which was a lovely setting and lots to chose from. Staff were both friendly and helpful. The hotel was a short walk from the market and all being well we would like to return for our golden anniversary,

Room Tip: Recommend room 40 very quiet
