My Wife and I visited this hotel on the 13th of December having booked only the day before. We found it easy to find on the satnav however parking was a bit awkward in the city centre, but got it sorted eventually. breakfast on the saturday was lovely and the room was also very clean and comfortable.

We also found the owners very accommodating when my wife went into labour and gave birth in the hotel early on Sunday morning. Our new son was 10 weeks early and clearly keen to not leave Bruges as its a lovely city. God knows what the other guests must have thought as my wife went into a very quick labour and gave birth in the room following the arrival of the excellent ambulance service and neo natal doctor.

I can confirm that the kitchen is large enough for an incubator and when I returned later in the day the owners were very kind and helpful even offering us food etc as we had to rush off to the hospital following the arrival of our new son.

So, in conclusion. Its very well placed for seeing the sights, has great value rooms and food, and if you end up having a baby there its very close to the hospital.

Room Tip: ask for a canal view.

Our second stay in Bruges in 2013 and we had 3 nights at the Bryghia. It's a great little hotel with comfortable rooms. Ours had a large bathroom with lovely hot bath, which was great when coming in from the cold after wandering round the streets and the Christmas market. The continental breakfast is good with excellent fresh rolls delivered every morning. One morning I was driving to Brussels for a meeting very early and the owners kindly made up a packed breakfast and delivered it to the room late the night before. The lady on reception is efficient but not so warm and friendly (mind you we'd been spoiled last time in Bruges by the really friendly and helpful Bieke at de Loft guest house). There was quite a strong smell of oil in the reception area and lounge. Maybe they have oil-fired heating and they had a problem or leak. Didn't really bother us as we didn't sit around in the lounge. Anyway all in all a great place for to stay for a break in Bruges, we'd be very happy to stay there next time.

When we arrived we found the woman at Reception so unfriendly and she didn't manage a smile.
However we since realised this seems to be the way of most people in Bruge!
Still this didn't spoil our three days in away, the breakfast was plentiful rooms were cosy although awful pillows and the TV didn't work!
I probably would stay closer to the Markt if I returned though!

We booked a two night stay and wanted somewhere within walking distance of the sights. This hotel was perfect for that reason. We had room 29 which overlooked the canal and the room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was continental style which was varied and well presented. The downside was the lack of Sky TV , which possibly sounds ridiculous but we had travelled on a motorbike and the storm St Judas had hit England and the European coastline. We were hoping to get information on travel arrangements before we set off for home and had to rely on our children to keep us up to date. Also as so often happens in small hotels is the lack of tea and coffee supplies. One tea bag and one sachet of coffee per person for 24 hours is not acceptable. However, despite this I would recommend this hotel for a mini break to Bruges.

Room Tip: Room 29 was quiet and overlooked the canal.

Stayed at this hotel with two of my sisters in October 2013.
The hotel is not glamorous or luxurious by any means BUT it is extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean.
Located within 10 minutes walk from Belfry and main square in a quiet location. Hotel Bryghia backs onto a canal and each room benefits from two large French style windows - ask for a canal facing room.
Double bed was really comfortable, linen very clean, flat screen t.v (mine didn't work but this wasn't a issue for me), lovely hot shower and clean fluffy towels. Stay here if you want a comfortable, clean, conveniently located hotel with lovely, helpful staff and excellent breakfast.

Room Tip: Canal facing rooms at rear of hotel are best.

we decided to spend a weekend away in Brugge for my 45th birthday....a special treat from my partner. So it was quiet disappointing that the room we were allocated had a glorious view of a wall!!This hotel has views of the canals, we got a wall!! So i asked for a swap explaining the situation of the occasion....we were then reallocated to the front, with a view of a small square....not a canal, but much better. The room was clean, large in size, bathroom had a wonderful shower and was also large, tea and coffee facilities, but the tv was falling off the wall near enough, and couldnt seem to pick up a signal ! However, the couple who run this hotel were charming and polite, which goes a long way. Breakfast in the dinning area will set you up for the day....getting lost 'in Brugge'.This little hotel is only a few minutes walk away from the main square, which is fantastic. Over all, a very pleasant stay.....x

Friendly and helpful owners of this well priced centrally located in Bruges' old town.
For ease and peace of mind we found booking our car parking space in advance with this hotel ideal . No need to use our car during our three day stay.
Our room was fairly compact but it was cosy, clean and tidy and as we expected from previous reviews we had read when we booked this up in September.
All we could need after a day out and about sight seeing. The lounge area was comfy and has free WiFi.
Breakfast didn't disappoint but the egg boiler wasn't that effective in boiling. One learnt to leave the egg in for at least 8 minutes or it ended up still raw in the middle.
Beds were comfy enough but a little on the low side for me and my bad back.
One of our pillows had gone lumpy but as we had two each it was used on the bottom.
The bathroom was OK but a bit dated. Found the bath dufficult to get in and out of. Would have found a walk in shower easier to get in and out of. No non slip mat was provided just a toweling bath mat.
Ideally located and very close to the Choco Story museum as well as local restaurants and cafés in the small square three minutes walk away.
A few minutes walk more and you are near to the main restaurants in the town's market square.
Would highly recommend booking up and having a meal at the Bistro Den Huzaar Restaurant. Food was delicious, good sized portions and great value all served with a smile. Better value for money than other local star rated restaurants.
Buy a Bruges City card 48 hour if you like to view the art and look around various museums as well as the local churches and various attractions, this card soon pays for it's self. With this card a free half hour canal trip is also included as well as a fairly complete and helpful Bruges travel book so don't waste your money in buying another guide book as well.

Room Tip: For that added bit of flavour and Bruges experience pick a room with a canal view.
