“Good find in the centre of Bruges”
Reviewed 12 June 2014

This hotel is located within 6-8 minutes walking of the Markt of the city centre of Bruges. The hotel is run and owned by a very friendly couple of take care of you during your trip. The owner gave us advice on how to best park our car (for free) and what we should visit during our tour.

The room as nice and decorated in a way that fit with the hotel and its location. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean.

The highlight of the stay was the included European buffet breakfast with a large selection of bread, croissants, yogurts and fruits.

I'm not a fan of shower curtains, but most hotels in Belgium (even more expensive ones) seem to have them.

Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay at Bryghia! Thank you to the owners for making our stay very enjoyable.

Stayed here two nights on 26/27 May 2014 and found it to be a pleasant hotel with a warm atmosphere. Breakfast was ample. Rooms are small but I notice the same in most parts of Europe though! Disappointing that could not access Wifi in room, however, it is accessible in the lounge area or near the lift or front of the hotel, as we had a canal view which was very picturesque. Would I stay there again, yes, especially if I can get it cheaper as it was pricey.

Room Tip: Canal view rooms are ample but you don't really get a good view as the canal is along the side a...

The city is very nice we will return once we retire from the work force.
We drove from Mannheim Germany the drive was. Only 4 hrs. The only problem we could not use our Esso gas card. We were looking for some good sea food.

Breakfast was good, served tea or coffee by pot, owners friendly and enjoyed the stay, more for couples than groups, family's or friends as the beds and settings were in a romantic setting. The owners English were fantastic and helpful as they gave us free Brugge map and told us train times.

We have been staying at this hotel for something like 15 years (generally up to 2 or 3 times a year), with our last visit in October 2013 and therefore have got to know the owners and their family very well, so call this review biased if you like, but the one thing that is certain is that we wouldn't keep going back if it wasn't so good.
The place has always been very clean, well located being close to Markt but in a quiet area (as others have said), with the only real noise on occasion coming from guests who fail to consider their fellow travellers when returning from a late night in town.
The morning Continental buffet breakfast was more than plentiful with a good choice of items and if you wish you could do your own boiled eggs - there was always a basket of them available.
Guido and Carla (the owners) would/will always do anything to help you if you ask, including recommending restaurants for evening meals.
Street parking is generally difficult in Bruges but again the hotel has some secure underground garages nearby that you can rent, which is great if you want to stay in town and sample the multitude of Belgian beers!
Our last trip was in October 2013 and we are returning again in the near future. To us it is almost a second home and I would never fail but to recommend Hotel Bryghia.

Quiet area in Bruges but only about 10 mins walk from the Markt. Very friendly and helpful hosts. There is a kettle in each room with some tea and coffee sachets (unusual apparently in Belgium). There is also a fridge for drinks, so if you wanted to buy some real milk for tea you could keep it in here.
Breakfast was great with a good choice and plenty of it
The wifi was in the downstairs lounge, but sometimes reached as far as our room (above the lounge on the 3rd floor)
A great place from where you can explore this beautiful city

Room Tip: We slept at the front with a view over the square. The bells from the convent next door started at 8...
