Lovely boutique hotel a five minute walk from town center. Rooms are large and well appointed, the service staff are efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. Cozy bar/atrium/open courtyard area in the center of the hotel providing a quiet oasis in this somewhat frenetic tourist town. Breakfast was excellent with many varied hot and cold options. All in all an excellent value for the money spent. Should we return again to Bruges definetely our number one choice form a place to stay!

Perfect location about a ten minute walk from the station( and not too many cobble) and the same distance to the Market Square. We were two singles but both had double rooms. We had our own little staircase up to the 2 rooms, which was perfect, as we could leave the doors open and wander between the rooms without disturbing other guests. Would be perfect for two couples or families travelling together (rooms 131 and 132). Very quiet and comfortable. To save you time -
The bedside light switches are behind the pillows
The bathroom light comes on and goes off itself (still trying to work out how it knows you're in there!)
To turn the water on for the bath turn knob towards you and away from you for the shower.
You get 2 sachets of coffee and two tea bags per day - if you want more bring it with you.
There is an empty fridge in the room if you want to bring things in
Keep depressing the light switch to turn the main lights off.
The staff are very friendly and breakfast is good. The hot food tastes a lot better than it looks!
Very hard to fault this hotel for the price. If I HAD to find anything I would say the towels are a bit thin, but that's being really picky !!

Room Tip: If you're booking two rooms ask for 131 and 132

The location of this hotel is really terrific, right in the center of town and a short walk (through a beautiful park, if you're up for it) to the train station. Free wifi, the staff was very helpful, and I did like the little garden. The bathtub was wonderful as well.

The downside-- I cannot get used to how tiny European hotel rooms can be! There was barely enough room to walk around the bed. I know this is not unusual for Europe, and it may well be worth it for the sake of the convenience of the hotel, but for me that did make it harder to feel I had gotten a good deal for what I had paid.

A fantastic hotel right in the centre of Brugge. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Parking was available but thankfully we booked in advance as it was full. Our room was large with a large bathroom too. We had a fridge and air conditioning and also a hairdryer in the bathroom. Breakfast was fantastic, so much choice and even had belgium chocolates!!!! We came here to celebrate our 20th Wedding Anniversay and it was the perfect hotel to stay and celebrate. 2 mins walk down the road is the Lake of Love, definitely worth a visit. Also for 7 Euros each you can have a boat trip and for 39 Euros a trip on the horse and carriage which takes you round the lovely quaint streets. Roads are all cobblestone so make sure you pack a good pair of walking shoes, I wore flip flops but ended up going back to the hotel to change. We will definitely be visiting Brugge again, and will certainly be staying at the Academie Hotel!!

Room Tip: We stayed on the 3rd floor. Very quiet but not much of a view.
