“Friendly and comfy hotel in a great location”
Reviewed 7 July 2011

Stayed three nights here -- extended our stay by a day because it was such as nice, relaxing place with friendly staff. Our room had a great view overlooking the canal. Breakfast was very nice and staff went out of their way to help us plan our time in Bruges.

There is no A/C here, which wasn't a problem until the last night, when the weather warmed up. It was cool enough with the windows open, but that also let in noise from the street (motorcycles and drunks) and also mosquitos, but the hotel provides a plug-in mosquito repellent that seemed to work. Drink enough gueuze and you will sleep soundly!

We made good use of the free bikes, riding the windmill path around the town's perimeter. And the oldest pub in Bruges, Café Vlissinghe, is right around the corner. Great beer and tasty food. A short walk to the town center.

Would definitely stay here again.

This is a small quaint hotel located on a canal just a couple of blocks from downtown. They have a wheelchair ramp in the rear of the hotel providing access to a nice clean albeit spartan room. The staff was helpfull in advising us of restaurants and places to see in the wonderful town of Brugges. There is no restaurant in the hotel but there are good eating places very close by. How many hotels have a dog that will play futbol with you in the yard??

My wife and I both found this hotel independently having failed to get a reservation in one of the more prominent city centre hotels. It sounded just right and the reviews were almost all very favourable. What a find!

It occupies a very pretty and quiet canal side location about a 10 minute stroll from the city centre and far from feeling out of it, you feel that you are in a more ‘real’ part of Bruges (and you can sleep with the windows open).

The staff could not have been more helpful, going out of their way to advise us on the best restaurants, bars and sights and generally giving great service with a smile.

The room was comfortable and clean with a great view over the canal and the breakfast buffets were very adequate for a goods morning’s walk or cycle around the area. Which brings me to my favourite bit - the hotel bikes. There are lots of them and they are free to use as you please.

I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel – whilst it isn’t a 5 star establishment in the centre of the ‘action’, it is all the better for it!

A very well-run hotel, clean and spacious room, breakfast is included and there is plenty of variety in the food offered. Staff couldn't have been more helpful in offering restaurant suggestions, travel hints, computer at the desk when the general one didn't work. We felt at home. Situated a few minutes walk from the centre on the picturesque canals.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were simple but great. The location is within easy walking distance of all the major attractions without being in the middle of the tourist crowds and right along a bus line that goes directly to the train station. The hotel is clean, well run and very quiet. Unfortunately we had a very small room and my wife and I were constantly tripping over each other. Of course, the beds are European size, so small by our standards. Our stay was only for two nights so it was fine. If we had stayed longer, we would have preferred a bigger room.

Our stay at Hotel Adornes was wonderful! Our room was comfortable and clean and had a great view. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. They recommended a great local place for drinks and snacks, which we loved. They also called another hotel to find out more for us about a scooter tour we were interested in since they hadn't heard much about it. The breakfast was amazing - several types of bread, cereal, yogurt, fruit, meats and cheeses, coffee, tea, juice, etc. The free bikes were also great - we used them a couple times to tour the city. We would highly recommend this hotel to others!

We stayed here for 2 nights and adored every minute. All the staff were so helpful, especially Rik; the breakfast was wonderful with constant restocking; the room was very well appointed and comfortable. We were a little surprised that tea and coffee facilities were charged at 6 euros extra, but perhaps that's standard in Belgium? The free secure parking was good too. Highly recommended!
