“Perfect Location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 July 2014

We arrived at 10am and enquired if it would be possible to park our car. To our surprise we were told our room was ready, so within 30 minutes we had parked, unpacked and armed with a city map set off for what turned out to be a long and memorable day exploring the centre of this beautiful town. Returning to the Adornes felt like arriving home, the hotel is full of character and in a lovely canal side location. Our room was large and comfortable, we did not find road noise to be a problem as mentioned in previous reviews, despite the window being open. The hotel only serves breakfast so you will need to find a restaurant for an evening meal. There are several within a 5 minute walk, Bistro de Schilder on Jan Van Eyck Plein gets my vote, try the Flemish stew. I would not hesitate to use this hotel on a future visit.

I loved staying here. I had a beautiful view and appreciated how helpful the staff was. Despite not being centrally located, it was easy to walk everywhere we wanted to go. The breakfast was also good.

There were a few minor things that were a bit bothersome. 1) I wanted to sleep with the window open to help keep the room cool, but a surprising amount of traffic through the night interrupted my sleep. 2) While the ending hours for the front desk are clearly communicated, the starting hours are not. That can make an early check out worrisome. 3) I had coffee making facilities in my room but didn’t realize I would be charged for using them. It was a small fee though.

Overall, I was very happy and would recommend Adornes!

We used to stay here a lot in the '80s and '90s and must have stayed at every interesting hotel in Bruges since.

We stayed here again after a probably 15 year absence in July 2014. It's fine, really nice, but having stayed at the Pandhotel, Die Swaene, Martins and many other great hotels in Bruges over the last 30 years at no more than 6-month intervals, our return to the Adornes found that nothing had changed,

Nothing major to moan about and the criticism is more an attempt to help than knock, but just new beds, new art in the rooms and a freshen up of the interior would help it keep up.

Nothing major. Retains enormous potential.

This place is a gem. Great location overlooking canal within the City. Free parking and free use of bicycles and as much free advice as you demand from charming hosts. Spacious rooms and great night's sleep.

Room Tip: Ask for room overlooking canal

Wonderful family owned hotel facing a canal in Bruges. Nathalie and Rik were fantastic hosts. Very helpful. Breakfast was fantastic and the décor/atmosphere of the dining room was very charming.
If you like dogs be sure to play some soccer with Nathalie's dog, Arthur .

This was our family’s first trip to Bruges but we have traveled extensively throughout Europe over a number of years. Hotel Adornes rises to the top of our travel accommodation experiences. The hotel is perfectly located in proximity to the main sites but out of the congestion. Our room was very comfortable, relatively quiet at night, and had great view of the canal. The staff was excellent, especially Rik who was extremely helpful in planning our time in beautiful Bruges. I highly recommend Hotel Adornes. We look forward to a return trip! The Turners

Room Tip: Night time is quiet so go for a front room with a view of the cannal!

Based on Trip Adviser recommendations we booked this hotel, and we were not disappointed! It is a little off the tourist path and provided a very nice place to be for the night. Small and well maintained with very helpful staff. Free parking in an underground garage is a great benefit. A little noisy with street sounds, but to be expected in a city like this.
