We stayed here for 3 nights during the heat wave in July. The hotel is amazing - small but well run and so friendly. We stayed in room 8 and when we walked into the room in the afternoon, I was worried that we would be too hot to sleep but by leaving the windows open in the late evening, the room cooled off and we slept very well.

The staff and friendly nature of this hotel make it worthwhile. I can't remember the name of the lovely woman who is at the front desk during the day but she was so friendly and helpful. As others have said the location is great - it's away from the crazy busy-ness of central Bruges but an easy walk to the center.

The free use of bikes is wonderful and we used them to ride to Dam ( a small town about 5 km away from Bruges along a canal), and to ride around the outskirts of town to see the windmills etc. We did ride them into town and around town but there are so many tourists and cars, that I would not recommend riding the bikes in the town center (I almost had a collision with a tourist who stepped into the rode without looking).

The breakfast served by this hotel (which is included in the price) was also fantastic - a modest selection of typical breakfast foods. We had asked for a canal view room (which they gave us) but I would actually chose a room that looked into the courtyard next time (for quiet). The noise wasn't too bad from the road along the canal but it was more than I was expecting.

I highly recommend the Adornes Hotel.

Room Tip: I would chose a room NOT overlooking the canal - somewhat noisy.

Excellent, clean and tidy hotel. Basic, but great for putting your head down for the night. Each room is ensuit and had a tv. We booked a double and it was twin beds pushed together.

Breakfast is continental and there is a lounge. Staff are friendly and helpful and very welcome.

My wife and I spent four nights at Hotel Adornes during a trip through France, Belgium, and Holland. This hotel is perfect!

The hotel is meticulously maintained; clean, fresh paint, everything in good shape. Our room was plenty big and had a window looking into the attractive court yard.

The staff are amazing! They advised us and helped us rent a car so we could drive to Ypres to see the Tour de France pass through. They also helped my wife find local thrift shops so she could treasure hunt for non-tourist items.

They offer a wonderful breakfast with a very wide selection that is beautifully presented and served.

They offer free bicycles which my wife and I used every day. The bikes were in excellent working order and made getting around very fun.

The hotel is located near several excellent restaurants and is right on one of the beautiful canals. The city center is about a 10 min walk. Very easy.

Hands down the best hotel we have stayed at in Europe. It's family run and they obviously take great pride in running an excellent hotel. Can't wait to go back!

One last thing, the family dog spends his days in the courtyard with the bicycles. He is a wonderfully smart dog that will actually play soccer with you! He is a very sweet animal and I really enjoyed making friends and playing with him as we came and went on the free bicycles.

Room Tip: Our room looked into the inner court yard and that was very nice.

Due to circumstances, initially we cancelled our weekend to Bruges only to rebook it a week later. Our first choice of hotel was no longer available. Hotel Adornes was therefore our second choice.
This hotel is perfectly situated along a charming canal and is very close to the historic city centre of Bruges. The hotel personnel made us feel welcome and were helpful with advice on visiting Bruges. Our room (#21) was very comfortable and boasted a large en suite bathroom. The breakfast buffet was excellent. We left our car in the secured underground garage and walked around Bruges. Ardones provides free bicycles - about 30 to choose from - and we enjoyed using these too.
Should we visit Bruges again, Hotel Ardones may well be our first choice.

Have just returned from 3 night stay. Yes, previous reviewer, we all hit Bruges during a heat wave so it was unusually hot but our room had a fan type cooler which worked really well -just as good as AC. I,m sure if your room didn't have one the staff would have provided one....our room was great and as it overlooked the courtyard it was really quiet and we slept very well. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful and having free bike hire was such a bonus! The breakfast was typical continental style for N Europe with special mention re the diff types of bread. We loved the fact that it was just outside the main tourist parts but still just a 10 min walk along lovely canal and cobbled streets to the market square etc. maybe the outside could do with a coat if paint but otherwise we found it clean and comfortable.

Room Tip: Room 3 is large, overlooks the quiet courtyard and has bath and shower.

The people are friendly with helpful advice on touring Bruges. The rooms are fairly small. However, nobody mentions that there is no air conditioning! Now this may not matter when the temp is 65 high and 50 low but in the summer it is very foolish to take a chance and stay here. By the way, the traffic noise outside the open window can be deafening! The location from the tourist sites is a bit distant. I would seriously look elsewhere in the summer months. In fact, with one more hot night here, I might do just that!

Room Tip: If it is summer- stay away! Otherwise a higher room might be more quiet.

We arrived at 10am and enquired if it would be possible to park our car. To our surprise we were told our room was ready, so within 30 minutes we had parked, unpacked and armed with a city map set off for what turned out to be a long and memorable day exploring the centre of this beautiful town. Returning to the Adornes felt like arriving home, the hotel is full of character and in a lovely canal side location. Our room was large and comfortable, we did not find road noise to be a problem as mentioned in previous reviews, despite the window being open. The hotel only serves breakfast so you will need to find a restaurant for an evening meal. There are several within a 5 minute walk, Bistro de Schilder on Jan Van Eyck Plein gets my vote, try the Flemish stew. I would not hesitate to use this hotel on a future visit.
