“Friendly, warm, little hotel, excellent staff and quality breakfast.”
Reviewed 7 December 2009

There was nothing to complain about at all with this hotel but lots to recommend it: the location is good, just a few minutes walk from the main market square and surrounded by ‘historic’ Bruges. The staff were all exceptionally friendly and helpful and spoke good English (we also heard them speaking to other guests in German and Italian, as well as French and Flemish). They were happy to recommend and book an excellent restaurant for us one night and were always available when needed. Breakfast was a good quality continental buffet with plenty of variety and we were kept well supplied with fresh bread and coffee without having to ask. Our rooms were cosy and warm, very clean and well furnished, with the bathrooms being clean and smartly decorated and there was a hair-dryer included with the room. The secure parking is a bit grubby but only a minutes walk away from the hotel and accessible at anytime with a key code.

The Adornes Hotel is simply the best. Excellent environment, bedrooms are great and the staff feels like your closest friends. It was the best breakfast that I had during my last staying and the location is pure poetry. Bruge gets more special if you stay at the Adornes.

My mother and I stayed here for two nights in the middle of the week in October. The hotel is well located, about 5 or 10 minutes stroll from the central square in Bruges. It overlooks a beautiful canal in a very quiet location. Like everything in Bruges, it is small - small rooms, small lift, small staircase - but having said that, our twin room was a very decent size, with a TV (which picked up BBC1 and BBC2!) and a large bathroom with a bath (but no shower).

Breakfast was very pleasant - cereals, muesli, bread, ham and cheese. They also had a wide selection of tea and very good coffee.

We didn't take advantage of the free bikes, but found the hotel and its staff very friendly in an authentically frosty, Belgian way! But we were visiting at the end of the season, just before there is a lull in tourist traffic for about 6 months, so no doubt everyone was a little tired.

I would recommend this hotel if you're looking for a quiet, relaxing, clean and extremely pleasant hotel close to the centre of town but far enough away to feel like you have left (what passes for) the hustle and bustle of central Bruges.

Excellent hotel!! We arrived and were warmly greeted and offered assistance with dinner reservations. In addition, the front desk made many welcome recommendations. Our room was very clean and comfortable with a great view overlooking the canal and cobblestone streets of Bruge. The location was nice for us - we walked almost everywhere except for when we borrowed the bikes from the hotel (great extra by the way) and biked to the windmills and around town. There is a computer with internet access under the stairwell and the hotel also has complimentary umbrellas to use during rainy weather. We would definitely stay here again!!

We stayed 3 nights at the end of August. Loved the staff and hotel -- absolutely couldn't be better.Restaurant. recommendation very good. The free bikes and the hotel's location near the Ring and the bike path out of town made our trip to Sluis and Damm easy and convenient. And the staff gave an A+ recommendation for a bike around Bruge's exterior that revealed areas we would never have seen. And since we had a car the free parking was a huge bonus. Room was very nice, with requested view of Canal. Even got to do a wash in the laundry area -- a trip I got from a Trip Advisor review - thanks! Room was spacious, immaculate (with anti-mosquito aids! )and bath fine. A caution: warm weather/open windows meant a bit of a noisy experience -- It's quaint Bruges but unfortunately on a bit of a busy intersection between about 7 a.m-9:00 p.m. Next visit we'll pass on the canal and ask for an interior room.

Stayed at the Adornes for one night on a quick visit to Bruges.
We were upgraded to a nice room with a canal view and were happy with the hotel and the reception staff are nice and friendly. We found the walk to the markt just on the border of long but exercise is good for you. We visited Pieter Pourbus restaurant and the food (seafood) was good in a cosy room. Also visited Cambrinus Beer restaurant, very good steaks and great beers left me smiling for the afternoon.

All said, the Hotel Adornes is a good base for visiting Bruges and I would stay there again

Went there with friends. I picked this hotel mainly because of the positive reviews. I was not disappointed at all. The friendliness and communication skill of the staff are outstanding. Breakfast, by European standard, is better than most 4 stars. Free breakfast, car park, bikes plus the location make this hotel simply unbeatable in Burges. Would love to go there again.
