“Charming gem in quiet canalside location, still close enough to centre”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 October 2010

A lovely friendly little hotel; no restaurant or bar, but the cosy rustic breakfast room serves adedquate fayre and tea/coffee and a small selection of alcoholic drinks can be taken in the small lobby. The building is charming and rambling but there are no ground-floor rooms; there is a small lift or steep and winding staircases to access the rooms. Bicycles are available to use free of charge and there is parking available by prior arrangement in a nearby underground carpark. There is an interesting old bar very nearby and it's only 5-10 minutes' walk to reach the town centre. Very reasonably priced. Would definitely stay there again and would definitely recommend it.

We have visited Hotel Adornes, two or three times a year over 25 years. The hotel is well run by Nathalie and her team, who are friendly, helpful, efficient and professional. They can communicate in several languages. Nothing is too much trouble and they will go to great lengths to ensure you have a really comfortable and happy stay with them, offering helpful advice about the town, the area and good places to eat. All rooms, whether large or small, have their own character and are always spotlessly clean, as is the entire hotel. We have stayed here in all 4 seasons of the year and have never been disappointed.

Breakfast is superb and is served in a charming breakfast room with large inglenook fireplace. A tea/coffee tray (important to all British travellers!) can be provided in your room at a very modest charge.

Less than a 10 minute walk into town, the Adornes is a lovely place to stay and Bruges, of course, a wonderful town to visit.

Hotel Adornes is great in so many ways. First, the location. It is perfectly placed beside one of the prettiest canal areas in Bruges. It is only a 5-10 minute leisurely walk to the centre of Bruges. But why go where it's crowded? Try the canal walk right outside the hotel to enjoy the scenic charm of Bruges. Second, the rooms are spacious and charming. More importantly, they're clean and well-serviced. My room faced towards the canal and I enjoyed a lovely view.

Pets are welcomed; kids are welcomed. Breakfast is included with the rate. Breakfast is served in a charming dining room with a fireplace that adds warm and charm on a cold October morning. The breakfast is generous and served with a warm smile. The hotel staff is immensely helpful in identifying scenic walks, local eateries, the best local pubs, and even touristy activities. The hotel offers complimentary bikes. Bikes are a great way to explore Brugse and see the nooks and cranny of the city. Scooters are available for kids; bike seats are also available for toddlers. The hotel is situated just outside of the bustling tourist centre but close that it can be accessed with a lovely little stroll. If you're coming by car, they hotel offers complimentary parking if you let them know in advance. Other amenities include free wifi access, luggage storage, and umbrella loans.

A perfect little gem in the perfect little town of Bruges.

We revisited this lovely hotel for the 4th time in six years for 6 nights this past September. We were in a beautifully appointed room overlooking the spectacular canal.Very comfortable bed and the buffet breakfast was outstanding. The breakfast room itself was rustic with a cosy fire burning in the fireplace. The staff are the best that you will ever find, kind, friendly and eager to recommend good restaurants, museums, and other interesting things to do in Bruges, one of the prettiest cities in the world.Rik has a world of knowledge about the surrounding area and is most enthusiastic to share it with everyone. Their English skills are exemplary and they speak many other languages as well including of course Flemish(Dutch). Bicycles can be borrowed free of charge. They are ideal for getting around the city and outlying areas.Nathalie's beautiful Burgandy Border Collie will play with anyone in the courtyard. He is a natural goalkeeper with phenominal skills with a ball. Many thanks Nathalie,Rik,Kim,Els, and the lovely girl who greeted us with a smile each morning at breakfast. There are plenty of very good restaurants and pubs in the area and it is about an 8 to 10 minute walk to the main square. We shall return

My wife and two teenage daughters and I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Adornes in Bruges. Our room overlooked the canal and the views were fantastic. The hotel provides free bicycles and we used them to visit the windmills and to go a short distance to the town square. The breakfasts were excellent with a wide variety of foods. The owners, a brother and sister I believe, could not have been more helpful. They recommended a small, off the beaten path restaurant that was delightful.

Adornes is located on a canal in a more quiet, less touristy area of Bruges. The room was small, but charming. Free breakfast, free parking, free use of bicycles make it a great value. The desk help had very good English skills and were informative and helpful. Parking is one block away, but we could drop and pick up our luggage. We enjoyed Cafe Vlissinghe (since 1515) just around the corner.

My husband and I recently spent two nights in Bruges and picked Adornes based on the trip Advisor reviews. It has a great location right on a canal that doesn't have boat traffic and is an easy walk to the market square. Staff was friendly and helpful and a very ample breakfast buffet got our mornings off to a great start.
