A simply charming hotel where the staff on reception made you welcome the moment you walk in the door. We met three different staff members on reception each of them enaged us in conversation and tried to find ways of ensuring we enjoyed our visit to Bruge. We have a great time even tough it rained the whole time! Thank you for the loan of the umbrellas.
On arrival parking had been arranged for us in safe, secure and free parking area. The breakfast each morning was of very good quality.
The location is perfect, a short walk of 10 minutes and you find yourself right in the middle of the city square. In fact we could see the Belltower from our room overlooking the canal.

Fabulous city and HA located perfectly with easy access to all sites yet still quiet. Service couldn't have been better; all staff very friendly and helpful, especially Rick who was "top of the bill"! Many thanks all, look forward to coming back soon.

Bruges was an intermediate stop on our vacation in the low countries of Europe via train after arriving in Schipol in the Netherlands from the US.We found the Hotel Adornes to be the ideal place to tour this well preserved small city in Flanders with its landmark tower and market square. Our hosts at Adornes were friendly, cordial and eager to please. The rooms were clean, bedding was excellent and comfortable and bathrooms modern and well lit.Breakfast in the cozy well appointed dining room was probably the best we had on our entire trip. The location was good in that you were just close enough to the center of town that you could get there with a short walk but just far enough on a quiet residential street to be away from the general hub-bub of the city center. The best thing about Adornes was its staff. They are top notch and obviously very service oriented as well as efficient. As in many buildings that are more than a few hundred years old, you will find the stairs steep and narrow and the elevators somewhat confining. Did I mention the free use of bicycles of which Adornes has many sizes? Riding these bicycles put all parts of the city within easy reach.I would certainly return to Hotel Adornes in the future when I visit Bruges.

My husband and I stayed at Adornes for 2 nights in October and did not find it such an extraordinary place. We agree that it is very well located, the staff is really nice and breakfast is good. However, we found our room (small double, with canal view) disappointing. At first sight, size was ok, but then we noticed we could get some space because the double bed (thin mattress) was pushed against the wall and this was very uncomfortable. Furniture was really modest and dated. Bathroom was spacious and had a bathtub, but no proper shower. I prefer to take a shower, so I tried to manage the douche, but bathroom had no curtain, so I spilled water all over the floor. In addition, there was a kind of window high in the wall that separates bedroom and bathroom, which made the bedroom very illuminated every time lights were turned on in the bathroom. But main problem was the water-flow noise. It must have been sewer pipes, I don’t know, but it was really annoying. All in all, Adornes is a good hotel, but if I knew it before, I would have stayed in another place, to match the romantic atmosphere of Bruges.

Wonderful, wonderful hotel. Great location. The free breakfast is wonderful, free parking is convenient (reserve it in advance), free internet is useful (although only in lobby--signal very weak in our second floor room), but the free bikes were such a pleasant surprise. The staff is unbelievably great. Helpful, informed, nice as can be. The Van Eyck restaurant nearby (recommended by the hotel) was one of the best meals we had on our trip. Loved this hotel.

The pluses: Hotel staff was great at giving us tips for eating out, and concerts. Location is great, 10 min walk from the market square. Rooms adequate and bathroom fair. Free bike service is great but there were a good proportion of broken-down bikes that day

The downsides: Noise, due to bad insulation, firstly from doors who do not seal well from the corridor, and from a water pipe behind the bed, where we could hear water flowing from the room upstairs. This is probably due to the fact the hotel is a 17th century building...
