Great location, easy walking to all Bruges attractions. Hotel was clean, good breakfast and very friendly staff who were always willing to help. The only minor issue was the design of the shower unit which inevitably sprayed water onto the floor of most of the bathroom.

Room Tip: I don't have enough information to recommend a good room location except that ours, 112, was ver...

As a regular visitor to Bruges, this was a return trip to The Flanders hotel, approx 10 years after our first visit. We found a completely different hotel, modernised, clean& efficient. It's in a great location, only a few minutes walk from the main squares, convenient but still in a quiet location. Hotel bar is good but we were disappointed one night to find it closed shortly after midnight despite the sign saying opening hours were 16:30-01:00! Also not all rooms have air-com, as we discovered so make sure you request this if it is important to you. The lovely lady on reception changed our room when we weren't happy with first room. Finally lovely big modern bathrooms - but why use shower curtains when screens are so much more hygienic :))

Room Tip: Ask for a room @ back of building away from road - also specify if you require a room with air-con

My wife and I stayed here for a quick weekend trip to Bruges. The room was clean and big for European standards with a really large bathroom. The parking (14 Euro/day) was also convenient, but you should reserve ahead of time. There was free WiFi, but we did not take advantage of the breakfast since that was an extra charge. The hotel is in a nice location, just 5-10 minutes from the main square. There are plenty of good restaurants and stores within an even shorter walk. I highly recommend this hotel and if we go back, we will stay here.

I have stayed at other hotels in Brugge , but this hotel is my favourite. The staff are helpful and friendly, and the room was spotless! I will definitely be staying here again soon. The breakfast was comprehensive and appetising.

My wife and I decided to go to Bruges for our 2nd wedding anniversary. After a searching for a Hotel with parking we came across the Flanders Hotel. Not only because it was one of the most centrally located hotels but it was also a very reasonable price.

Upon booking I received email with details on how to contact them and that my parking space (€14 per day) had been accepted. I thought this was very convenient. Yes, there are other parking units in Bruges but I felt it easier to park at the hotel for an additional €6 a day. My wife and I were on an early ferry crossing and the Flanders were more than happy for us to leave the car there and go and explore Bruges prior to our 2pm check-in at no extra cost.

The hotel had a very modern feel to it and all the staff members were very attentive. The hotels biggest recommendation was to avoid the restaurants around the market squares which, if I’m honest could not agree with more. They looked over crowded and overpriced. They room was plenty big enough for the 2 of us and had all the utilities you need. The only thing I could possibly pick a hole in is the lack of a USB port on the television but let’s face it, why would you want to be sat in your room when you have all the history of Bruges on the doorstep. We opted for a room without breakfast. There is a small supermarket just down the road where you can get everything you need. This is not to put you off having the breakfast, it looked lovely.

Not having been to Bruges previously you very quickly get to know your way around this city. The maze of cobbled streets are a great place to just meander around, without the worry of getting lost (trust me you can see the Belfry from most streets). Talking of the Belfry: well worth the trip up the 366 steps. The view from the top is exquisite and to see the working mechanism of the bells is just mind blowing!

We looked at the horse and carriage rides (€40) and decided against them and went on a boat tour (€7.60) both took around 35 minutes and the rivers are surely the better angle to see the city from.

We paid a visit to both the Chocolate and Frites museum (joint ticket €11) and found this all very interesting and you finally get to find out why on earth French Fries are named as so. The chocolate is also very reasonably priced in the Museum.

There are a lot of lace stores and chocolate stores scattered across Bruges, again try to avoid the ones around the 2 main squares. The best one we found for lace was by the old fish market. If you were to stand with your back to the canal looking at the market it is on the corner to the right (sorry the name escapes me) it has the “Vismarkt” road sign on. Also there is a very good Chocolatier near this shop. It’s called “The Chocolate Crown”.

Whilst we were there the Airbag (accordion) Festival was on, brilliant is the only way to describe this. Also on the Sunday within Brug Square there were free games to play, I’m not sure if this was part of the festival but brilliant fun! All this entertainment was free…..

We looked around for some good places to eat and our best restaurant was Dell’ Arte on Vlamingstraat (just off Grote Market) where you can get a Filet Mignon for €18 and cooked perfectly. They also had very nice Flemish Coffee.

To round up: Please add Bruges to you list and the Flanders Hotel is a lovely, reasonable hotel in a wonderful location. Make sure you climb the Belfry, visit some museums, eat lots of chocolate, buy some lace and take a river cruise. You won’t regret it!!! We can’t wait to go back for the Christmas Markets!!!
