Reception was friendly and efficient, rooms clean and (very) warm. As mentioned above the breakfast was first class. Well positioned within walking distance of all major sites.

I went to Bruges with my girlfriend for a romantic weekend and was very pleased with my choice of hotel. Impressions are excellent from the start with a very modern and clean reception area. The staff at the reception desk really went out of there way to recommend the finest restaurants and the best attractions in town. We tried his recommendations and they all proved to be top notch. One place he recommended had a choice of 400 beers and is well worth a visit, even for just the grub.
The room was very clean, spacious and had a comfy bed.
All in all this was a great deal as breakfast was included and it was only a 5 min walk to the centre of town. Only a 15 min walk from the train station which is also very handy.

I recently stayed at the Flanders Hotel which was easily accessible by foot from the main sights. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. Room clean and smart, slippers and robes provided! TV channels tuned to UK channels! Great shower and very comfortable bed. Loved the breakfast, buffet style, lots of choice. Bruges is a compact city, lots of lovely sights. The only downside was the price of meals in local restaurants, but that was mainly due to the poor value of the euro to the pound. Also I understand the VAT is high in Belgium. Try quieter side streets away from the main square for cheaper meals. Some good value restaurants down by the Beginjhof area. Boat trip is worth doing, interesting facts and commentary. Chocolate Museum also worth a visit, though lot of stairs involved. Diamond Museum not so good - distinct lack of diamonds in my opinion! All in all, a great hotel, no complaints and a very interesting city. Would definately recommend.

This was not our first choice hotel but being double booked at our original hotel the tour operator re-located us to this excellent hotel. The room was a double superior and the service on arrival was first class. The reception staff were very friendley and helpful and they pointed out the best eateries and watering holes to visit. Bruges was amazing and at xmas time the town is decked out in festive decorations and with the added bonus of a town centre ice-rink and mulled wine it all added up to a first impression that will last a long time in our minds. The horse carrage rides are great and the canal trips are a must, Bruges has many wonderful sight seeing opportunites and if you are able doing these on foot is a must. an added bonus for myself was that in our hotel the author and tv presenter Bill Bryson was staying with his family, so photos and autographs were called for ( and a few tips on sight seeing from bill). A great hotel 5 min from the centre and a wonderful place to visit, both will be done again soon.

I booked this hotel having looked at recent reviews on tripadviser and was pretty confident that this would be satisfactory for our stay over the New Year break. I was disappointed to have read a negative review just before going away (posted 28 Dec 2008), so was delighted when we found both the hotel and our room in top order.
The hotel is relatively small (expected) but really has a homely feel to it. Is has an ample Reception, and nice Breakfast Restaurant supplying good cold and hot food at reasonable times for holiday makers. There is not much of a selection of hot food, but on one of our days this prompted me to have cold meats and cheese on lovely fresh bread rolls and this was an absolute delight!!
There is a relatively large bar which appears to have recently been refurbished and is contemporary and comfortable. As read on another review, the cost of drinks is good compared with other hotel prices.
There is a pool which is relatively small (expected), but I'm sure it would serve a purpose for a quick dip either before or after some wonderful local sightseeing. This is free for use; and that's another thing, there are some services provided free by this hotel which normally get charged including web access and safety deposit boxes in the Reception area.
When we arrived we were advised that we had been 'upgraded' to a recently refurbished room. This was excellent. I would definitely recommend this hotel, but suggest that you ask for a refurbished room. This may make all the difference with this hotel.
The hotel staff were extremely friendly and efficient. Definitely a 'plus' when staying away!!
All-in-all this was one of the best hotels we have stayed in for a short break and is highly recommended.
