Bruges is an amazing and beautiful place and this hotel is no exception. The staff could not have been more welcoming and friendly, recommending various places to visit in line with our interests as well as providing us with a map with these marked on. We even bumped into them in one of the bars and had a chat! Our room was very clean and well maintained and the air conditioning was a real plus with the stifling heat. Our bed was incredibly comfortable, the best nights sleep I've had in weeks! We were amazed at how we got such a beautiful hotel so rich in history given the low price we paid. The highlight of our stay was with out a doubt the breakfasts. The abundance of wonderful food and beverages were the perfect start to the day, filling us up until 5/6 o'clock in the evening! The location was also perfect with everything only a short walk away and within easy reach of the train station. We're already looking into booking our next stay!

Jan Brito is in a top location only a few minutes from the main square. The staff were excellent and could not have been more helpful or courteous. The onsite bike hire at 9 euro a day was a great way to get around. Suggest booking the bikes when you book the room. Breakfast was excellent. Cooked breakfast , cereals, cold meats and cheeses, yoghurts. On the downside, wifi on the top floor was spasmodic. The lift had broken down and so it was a bit of a hike up with luggage. Overall it doesnt feel like a 4 star hotel. More like 3. The aircon on the top floor was very poor and given the heat during the day made sleep difficult. Suggest staying on a lower floor.

Room Tip: Stay on the lower floors rather than the top

This amazing hotel represents the amazing Bruges... Lovely, cozy, romantic and rich in details and history.
Staff were attentive and gentle, excellent rooms and a breakfast quite good.
Negative points: I had to come back home :) and the elevator was difficult to use.

No doubt about returning there when it`s possilble. Highly recommended.
Regards.

Located near the center, clean overall and rather good service. Bikes rental makes things easier. Take care to ask for a parking place when booking if you plane to drive there, some dates are terrible to get rid of a car in Bruges!

Room Tip: The higher is the room, the quieter it will be, as on usual, specially on weekends.

Our family of four stayed in the family room. The kids slept in the loft area and loved the novelty of it. It has very steep stairs so it wouldn't suit little ones or sleepwalkers. The beds were comfortable and we loved the historical aspect of the building. We all banged our heads on the timber beams at some stage. The bathroom did have an unpleasant smell about it, but the window can be opened for fresh air. Breakfast was very nice. We were too busy seeing the sights of Bruges to fully enjoy the property, and I wish I could have spent some time relaxing in the lovely garden. We could not access the wifi in the family room at all. The airconditioning was very welcome in the hot weather. They don't let early guests check in before 3pm, but we were ok with that as they stored our bags and we took off to see the sights.

Stay here because it"s so close to everything, not for the great rooms or breakfast. It's an old hotel, like everything in Bruges. Carpets are worn and stained but the AC worked and the bed was fine. Breakfast was bountiful but only so so. The staff was friendly though it was unclear whether, when I arrived at 12:30 and tried to check in, having come straight from my overnight flight, whether my room wasn't ready or it was just policy that you couldn't check in before 3p.

Very nice hotel - good buffet breakfast - handy for the Markt - beautiful peaceful courtyard to unwind - would stay there again. Staff very helpful and pleasant to deal with. Take a taxi from/to the rail station - 10 euros.
