Stayed here with husband, daughter and son-in-law for 3 nights. Beautiful old, elegant building, perfectly situated in a quiet street but easy walk to main centre. Spacious room with air-con, 'fridge and safe, and lovely bathroom. All staff were quietly efficient and friendly. Very good and varied breakfast, although hot stuff could have been hotter. If I was to be really picky, the towels could have been bigger and fluffier, but there were plenty of them. Large umbrellas available for the use of guests (which we found very useful!) Very hard to find any real fault with this lovely hotel.

Room Tip: My daughter had a room under the eaves and was kept awake by rain on the roof. Her husband is very tall so found the low beams awkward.

Had a nice stay at this hotel Sept 13. Lovely staff, couldn't have been more helpful. Had a nice spacious room. Hotel has a great garden area with a fountain. Good wifi in rooms (I was on 2nd floor) and a great buffet breakfast. The bar/small lobby area certainly lacked atmosphere but we were not there to hang around the hotel so this didn't bother us. All and all a great hotel and would recommend.

We stayed here for my 40th Birthday and then staff and hotel was just perfect for our visit. The hotel is situated just off the main places to visit in Bruges.

The staff were friendly and helpful showing us some places we should visit and even gave us a discount voucher which proved useful giving us some euros off.

The room we stayed in was lovely and it had one of the best beds I have slept in.

We would definatly recommend it to anyone and will visit again

A great hotel with a lot of character right in central Brugge! The Hotel Jan Brito is situated only a few minutes walk to the main squares yet far enough away that you don't get noise from local pubs late at night. Also since we were traveling with a dog we were quite pleased to find a large park only a 2 minute walk from the hotel so it was super convenient.
They have a great courtyard garden where we spent a tranquil afternoon relaxing after exploring the city. The elevator in the back building mentioned in some previous posts is painfully slow but there are always the stairs. Lucky for us we were on the first floor I guess. Breakfast in the hotel was pretty good, typical I suppose of most European hotels. The staff was really friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make sure our stay in Brugge was perfect.

Stayed at the Jan Birto for a few nights and previous reviews have been fairly accurate in respect of location, friendliness and quality.

The location is as good as it gets in Bruges, a very short walk away from all the attractions in the City, but out of the way meaning it is lovely and quiet.

All the staff were friendly and helpful and on our arrival the receptionist booked our restaurants we had decided to visit during our stay and I would highly recommend this as the good restaurants do get busy. We had researched TA prior to the visit and selected a couple of restaurants due to the reviews received and our parties preferences (I would highly recommend a visit to Bierbrasserie Cambrinus, EXCEPTIONAL).

Breakfasts were good and there was plenty of choice from the buffet selection, which was fresh and plentiful.

My only minor niggle was room 16. We weren't in there but our friends were!! Due to the shape of the bathroom, although there was a shower on the bath, there was not a fixing to put the shower head on as you can't stand up due to the roof. So if you like to shower rather than have a bath, avoid room 16!

Otherwise, a good hotel in the centre of Bruges and well worth a visit.

Room Tip: Avoid room 16 if you prefer to have a shower.
