We stayed in this clean and comfortable Hotel for 4 nights with Leger Tours. Room and breakfast excellent for the price and the staff were the nicest Hotel staff I have met in years. The walk into Town is about 15 minutes and there are two very friendly bars on route. The Eating experience in the Town Centre is excellent but beware the Restaurants in the Market Square as the unwary request for a glass of white wine will bring a glass of Sancerre Wine at E6.50 a glass - you have been warned. The Hotel Bar is expensive for spirits but a nice glass of beer or a snack are very reasonably priced for a hotel.

Room Tip: The stairs are a little steep (There is a lift) much better in a ground floor room.

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights on a Beautiful Bruges trip with Leger Holidays. This was our third time on this holiday and other people on the trip had been a few times so the hotel is obviously very good. The rooms are comfortable and clean with plenty of wardrobe space. The hotel rooms are on the ground and first floor and there is a lift for anybody who has a problem with stairs. The staff are very polite and all speak English very well. Reception is not 24 hour so you are given a code to get back into the hotel if you arrive back after 11pm or you want to go outside for a smoke. The bar is quite cosy and serves a good selection of drinks, prices are not much dearer than in Bruges which is good for a hotel. The bar closes at 11pm. There is no restaurant but you can buy soup or a toastie at the bar. Breakfast is served on the first floor from 8am to 10am, plenty of choice of breads, cereal, cheese and meats. The bread is delivered just before breakfast is served so it is very fresh. There are jams, honey etc. and freshly boiled eggs, nice yellow yokes not dark green like you get in most hotels because the eggs have been prepared the night before. The hotel is very quiet as it is in a mainly residential street but it only takes 10-15 minutes to walk to the historic centre of Bruges. For people who have difficulty walking, there is a frequent bus service with a bus stop very close to the hotel. If we travelled independantly to Bruges we would stay at this hotel as we have never had a bad experience on any of our visits.

Room Tip: In a quiet area so no need to book a specific room

We stayed for 4 nights at the Olympia in Oct 2011 as part of a Ledger "Beautiful Bruges" trip.
The choice of the hotel was fine by us. The coach drivers showed us where we would come out on a square and how to get from there to the main square. They then showed us the street opposite the hotel to walk along to get to the first square. This by the way is typical of the service you receive from Ledger drivers. It took us about 15 mins to get to the first square and then a further 10 mins to get to the Main Square. For those that find this a bit much the hotel has an arrangement with a taxi company to get a cab for 7 Euros. A nice touch when you are not sure how much it could cost.

The hotel had all our keys ready in reception so we could go straight to our rooms after the journey. Our room was clean, maybe the furniture was a little rudimentary but the bed was comfortable and the room quiet. The only comment I would make is about the bathroom. It was clean and there was plenty of hot water, the thermostat didn't always work and it could get very hot but there was a funny small bath and both of us slipped and sat down with a bump because the bottom was rounded. However other guests in our group had a mat in the bath so maybe we were just unlucky.

Much has been written about the breakfasts. It was ready on time, plentiful and the bread was fresh with various types. If you want a 5 star breakfast with all the trimmings go to a 5 star hotel. It was a typical 3 star continental breakfast with as many returns to the buffet as you wished and most important for me as many cups of tea as you wanted.

The staff were friendly and made sure that we had the code to get back into the hotel if we returned after reception closed and the door was locked. The little bar in the evening was good for a coffee or tea after a meal in town as well as something stronger. Yes it was expensive but so was everywhere in Bruges!! Doesn't matter they don't serve dinner, there are so many really good restaurants around the two squares. Try the Flemish rabbit stew or the Mussels in white wine sauce. Shouldn't leave Bruges without eating these.

Finally, the trip was made for us by the drivers from Ledger, they provided maps for Ghent, Ypres, Bruges and central Brussels although if you go on this trip, we found the day in Brussels a bit of a waste. Spend an extra day walking around Bruges. A lovely break

All in all a quiet hotel from which to wander around "beautiful Bruges"

Probably the most frendly and helpful staff of any hotel we have stayed in. The hotel is situated in a pleasant quite residential district about half an hours walk from the centre, with plenty of on road parking. The hotel is very clean with comfortable beds, athough the decor is looking dated. Very good value.

We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Our room was spacious, the bathroom was fine. The hotel is in a very quiet location but there seems to be little soundproofing between the rooms. Fortunately our neighbors were quiet and we had a good night's sleep. My husband enjoyed the artwork on the walls.
Our room was on the ground floor. The window was very large and when it was open it seemed as if anyone could just walk into the room. Therefore we had to close the window at night. There is a bar in the lounge which also serves cheese toast. This is a nice convenience.

The breakfast was a disappointment. My tea was terrible. There was no fresh fruit, not even an apple, and minimal selection of other foods.

We've stayed here in a group three years running. The hotel is pleasant, nothing fancy, but the staff are friendly. The breakfast is adequate, cereals, yogurts, fresh breads and rolls, hard boiled eggs, ham, cheese, and coffee or tea, but I wouldn't want to stay there for too many days as the lack of variety would begin to tell. The range of cheeses and breads used to be more extensive but they have cut back over the past two years. The rooms are just about large enough, fairly basic, clean and quite comfortable but the walls are very thin! We could hear our neighbours having an argument, word for word. We have heard complaints that it is too far from the centre of Bruges, but for us this is no problem, we enjoy the walk in (approx 15/20 mins, and we walk quite fast) but you could take a taxi if you prefer. There is a hotel bar but it has a very restricted range of bottled Belgium beers, considering that it is in Bruges. It used to stock a wider range and we hope that it will do so again. The only food available in the evening whilst we were there was Croque Monsieur. This is a hotel geared to tour groups and all in all provides a reasonable base and is perfectly adequate for a short stay, with the whole of Bruges with its great bars and cafes just a 20 minute walk away.

Room Tip: ground floor rooms may be noisier than first floor, but all the walls are thin

Hotel used by tour group, felt it was adequate as only staying 4 nights, was concerned as we were on 1st floor at end of corridor no other fire exit available except back along corridor. We were woken on first night by loud snoring from room next door ,this went on each night no other room available, conversations could be heard there seemed to be a problem with the way new windows had been fitted as walls were solid. On saying this we had no other problems, situation was good easy access into the centre of Bruges and to station, owners and staff friendly, everywhere was clean, plenty of hot water. We used our travel kettle without any problem.

Room Tip: Ask for non smoking room on 1st floor
