Brilliant central location & the best breakfasts we've ever come across. A delight to behold & quite delicious to eat. The staff are polite, & most friendly & helpful. We paid extra for a room with a canal view which was impressive but was a bit noisy because of the busy cobbled road between the hotel & the canal. We had a bathroom with shower over the bath but no shower curtain which meant we had a little flood after using the shower. Otherwise we had a lovely stay.

I stayed here for 3 nights with my partner and teenage daughter. I'd chosen this hotel simply because I wanted a hotel with an inside pool just in case of bad weather. The hotel was OK. The pool was tiny - I think our bedroom was actually bigger.

The room we stayed in was very comfortable and spacious. However, I was disappointed that there were no tea/coffee making facilities.

I got a really good deal through a holiday comparison site. I couldn't believe the difference in the prices for the same room/same dates etc. I paid £200 for 3 nights - some operators were charging up to £1900 for the exact same dates. I don't think the hotel was worth anymore than I'd paid for it.

The location was good - really close to everything.

The hotel staff were fantastic - extremely helpful and welcoming.

Bruges itself was charming.

Bruge was the first stop on our honeymoon and they made us both feel really special. We told them that we just got married and they upgraded us to an amazing suite. Very friendly staff, good atmosphere.

We stayed at the Hotel De Tuilerieen for one night only while visiting Bruges for two days. We were able to check in early, even though our room was not ready. The hotel upgraded us to a larger suite, but kept us in a non-smoking room, which was important to us. The hotel has a small parking area in the back and we were able to keep our car parked for the entire duration of our visit, which was very handy (as parking in any European city, but especially a medieval one like Bruges, is a nightmare).

The service was impeccable. All staff spoke perfect English and gave us great directions and suggestions. After we returned from the first part of our visit and our room was ready, our luggage was brought up to the room. On our second day it rained, and the hotel staff provided us with umbrellas that allowed us to continue to see the city, even in heavy rain.

Overall, this is a great hotel to stay at. The lounge was very nice. Our room was very spacious and the bathroom was large. Upon booking, try to request a non-smoking room and a room with the canal view for better views.

Two minor items you may want to be aware of when you stay at this hotel.
1. With the canal view also comes one of the main streets through Bruges. Noises from tourists and the horse-drawn carriages could wake you early. We had ear plugs with us that effectively shielded the noise and allowed us to sleep in.
2. Although the hotel advertises air conditioning, the unit was fairly small and it took a long time to cool the room. It is also time-based and ended up turning off in the middle of the night.

Other than that, we can definitely recommend the hotel.

Chosen out of the a list provided by other friends, this 3-day trip for 7 of our oldest friends was made near perfect by Hotel de Tuilerieen - and its rather special ambience. Customer care appears to be supreme at Hotel de Tuilerieen, with every need however perculiar or obtuse satisfied with speed and accuracy.
The breakfast was decribed by one of our number [a much-travelled lady] as close to perfection. The decor, size and appointments of the bedrooms suited our tastes exactly. its location overlooking the canal and close to the retail hub of Bruges excellent.

Room Tip: probably quieter at the back of the building, overlooking the private carpark/gardens.

Paper thin walls, dirty room, insects in the rooms, cleaners started hoovering before 9am in the morning. Very poor value for money to say the least. Staff were pleasant, but rather clueless. Would not return.

We travelled to Bruges for two days with two young children and were drawn to this hotel because of the pool. We wound up with many bonuses beyond the pool (which is small but came in very handy on Saturday afternoon to wear our kids out before dinner....) Our room #142 did not face onto the canal which was slightly disappointing but was spacious, bright and clean. The bathroom was huge. The staff was friendly and helpful. The town is fantastic, and the hotel was the icing on the cake for our trip. If you go to Bruges, you cannot go wrong staying here, but...it is not cheap! Have fun.
