Hotel De Tuilerieen

We only had one night in Bruges, but it was so lovely to stay in 5 star accommodations. The Hotel De Tuilerieen is situated in one of the most picturesque spots of Bruges....and that's saying a lot! The whole town is overwhelmingly gorgeous. Our large room had a beautiful bathroom and four poster bed. The details like silk draperies, carved wood bed, vintage decorations, vanilla toned bathroom tiles, hand sculpted mirrors and French windows add to the luxurious, yet cozy feeling. There is a beautiful pool, garden patio and burgundy bar. Both the formal dining room and the breakfast room are breathtaking, as was the breakfast served by a charming couple from the kitchen. Thanks to the fabulous hotel location, we were able to see so much of this city in under 24 hours. We will definitely plan another trip to stay longer next time and experience more of magical Bruges.

Room Tip: Room143 is beautiful and has easy access via the modern lift or vintage staircase!

We recently spent a long weekend in a superior double room paying 25 euros per night extra for a canal view room. We had previously stayed at the hotel and enjoyed it so booked direct with the hotel. We paid 354 euros for the Saturday night (not including breakfast)! The other nights were a bit more reasonably priced and our 3 night stay bill was 821 euros (for room and breakfast). We had emailed the hotel and advised that we had stayed before and were told that the hotel have a policy of allocating better rooms to returning guests however our room felt a bit on the small side for 3 nights although it was an acceptable size by European standards and was a nice room with almost full length windows opening out over the picturesque canal view. The bathroom was tired and the shower tray actually bounced up and down (we are not heavy people) so not perhaps what you would expect to find in a luxury hotel such as this.

The breakfast was excellent – a buffet breakfast with an extensive choice of top quality produce, delicious pastries and a chocolate fountain! I did feel however that the food cooked to order i.e. eggs/bacon let it down a little – as I believe scrambled eggs should be cooked in a saucepan and not in a microwave and fried eggs should not have a leathery underside! The elderly members of the breakfast staff had a brusque manner and might benefit from some customer service training.

Overall the hotel is a beautiful clean building and the bar/lounge area and other ground floor rooms are lovely. The hotel is well run with a luxurious feel. The reception staff are very professional and helpful (and all very pretty – the boys included!).

Room Tip: Looked through the door of room next door to ours whilst it was being cleaned (room 135) and it look...

Stayed here for two nights in May 2012 and we were very pleased. I travelled with three friends and we had booked two twin rooms. One of my friends and I decided to pay an extra 25 euros per night for a canal view - this proved to be a good move as our room was large and the bathroom too. It was at the front of the building but noise was not a problem and the air conditioning was quiet. My other two friends did not fare so well and their room was much smaller as was their bathroom. The staff are helpful and friendly and the breakfast is beautiful. We had a lovely stay here and will certainly come back.

The hotel is a comfortable 20 minute walk from the railway station, and is situated in the centre of town with only a five minute walk to the Burg and Market Squares. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our week stay. We had picked this hotel having read previous reviews on Tripadvisor, so had some idea as to what to expect. We had room 41 which is a ground floor room in an adjacent building to the main building. It was a large room with tall ceilings overlooking the front of the hotel. Although previous reviews did mention some noise from the road and pavement outside, we noticed very little ourselves. The only drawbacks was to ensure the curtains were drawn before disrobing with the lights on! Like other rooms ours had quirky items such as white bowls and jugs dotted around the room. The room was clean and tidy with plenty of lights (I counted 16 in the bedroom and 9 in the bathroom), and there were two comfortable double beds.
I'm sure there are better rooms in the hotel, but a building of this age will have a mixture of accommodation, and all subject to availablity on the day.
My only minor comments in regards to our particular room was the lack of ability to open any window. I also feel the provision of tea making facilities and additional English speaking TV channels would have enhanced our stay.
We did not partake of the breakfast as we too felt that €30 (£25) was a bit over the top, but there are plenty of cafes/restaurants nearby were a suitable breakfast cost between €7- €12. Besides which it's nice to experience different establishments whilst on holiday. Overall I would certainly recommend a stay at the De Tuilerieen.
PS there is a €2 per person per night town tax to pay

The title of my review really says it all, let me explain...

We booked this hotel with a deal on the Groupon website and paid 175 euros for the Junior suite and paid 75 extra because we stayed on a saturday night.
Now I know that it was a good deal, but I'm keeping the original price people need to pay to sleep here in mind.

The hotel was very nice, staff very helpful, the room was very big but... the swimming pool was small and worn down, there was a full ashtray on our terrace and I actually missed a jacuzzi.

I know that I'm actually looking at small things and that not having a jacuzzi in the wellness area is a luxury problem, but don't forget you normally pay around 400 euros for a night in the Junior Suite, so everything should be top-notch.

Breakfast was included in our coupon, and allthough it was very good, it's not fully worthy of it's normal price.
Breakfast normally costs around 30 euros per person, so I would expect a glass of champagne of some sort, but as said, breakfast was very good (eggs like you want them, fresh orange juice (as much as you like), salmon, fresh buns, variety of fresh fruit, ...).

So to conclude, this is a very good hotel, but it isn't worth the price (in my opinion).

We got a good deal through a 'late deals' website, so it was cheaper than going directly to the hotel.
The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful. We had an amazing room. It was huge, with an equally huge bathroom. The room was decorated to be sympathetic with the period building, but wasn't dated and chintzy. We had a comfy sofa for watching TV, and a large comfy bed for a great nights sleep. The bathroom was ultra modern, with an amazing shower, with large showerhead. Genuinely, I didn't want to leave the room to explore the city!
Pool and sauna are a bit tired looking. We had them to ourselves, when itwas dark outside, so it was atmospheric and we had a nice dip. Very relaxing.
We didn't eat here. The cost of breakfast was a bit steep, especially for two people. We went to a bakery in town for patisserie and coffee for less than half the price.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

What a delightful find!

We had an absolute bargain 3 night stay including flights and breakfast for £300 per person, which when you look at the cost of this hotel, is a complete STEAL! The bar prices will however sting you a bit, but what else do you expect from this type of hotel?

The hotel is situated in a wonderful location, smack bang in the middle of Bruges, and a stones throw away from all the sights and places of interest.

Breakfast is "to die for" and the selection of breads, cheese, fruit, etc is just enough to make you feel special....then there is the endless chocolate fountain that trickles away just tempting you ...

The rooms are luxurious, detail is plenty and the beds are oh so comfortable.....

The spa is minimal, but lets face it we are there to see Bruges not sit around, however on our last day it rained so much we spent a few hours sitting in the spa, chilling, listening to the soothing music and having a dip in the lovely little pool....perfect!

This hotel is lovely, the decor is simply stunning, the building is very impressive and the wall of fame in the bar really makes you feel your living the celeb lifestyle if only for a weekend.....

A Stunning luxury retreat, im so glad i accidentally found it! Well recommended!
