Just to highlight the wonderful experience in this outstanding hotel.
Location, rooms, service, charming atmosphere, caring to every detail .... Breakfast was fantastic and Gin and Tonic at the bar was simply a touch of class !
Best choice in Brugge ! No doubt

Our booking at this hotel was for a Superior Deluxe bedroom. Superior deluxe is the entry level room in this hotel, and our room was neither superior, nor deluxe.

The bedroom was only separated from the adjoining bedroom by a locked door, and the soundproofing was so poor that we could hear the occupants of the adjoining bedroom snoring. The double bed was 2 single beds, of differing heights, pushed together, with a ridge at the point where the 2 beds met, and the bed didn't have a headboard, so the pillows slipped off the bed during the night.

The website also offers WiFi in the rooms, however our room was too far away from the router for the WiFi to work.

Most budget hotels would be more comfortable than this one. If you are prepared to pay high prices for a good room, this may be a good hotel to stay in, but for the prices we paid (not including breakfast) there are many better places to stay.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. The good news is that Bruges has plenty more hotels to choose from.

Room Tip: Choose a room in a different hotel.

Now please don't take this review the wrong way, this hotel is great. But, we came here once or twice a year for 4 years because it's so great and this was our first visit back in 3 years, due to personal circumstances not allowing it!
Great to see that the decor has been updated, and bathrooms refurbed. Nice to receive a birthday card from the management (although in all other members of the SLH group you usually get a bottle of bubbly or a free upgrade). But the beauty of this hotel for us had always been the free rein you "used to" have.
The "spa" is now chargeable at 10EURO a day! Pardon? Thankfully the young man at reception followed me down to the "spa" after me turning up at reception wondering where my usually complimentary robe and slippers were. Hair all over the place they handed one over the front desk (apparently people take the mickey and wear them when they don't need to - and it costs 5 EURO to get them cleaned). Not the sort of thing I expect to hear in a 4* Luxury hotel. So he follows me down to the spa because I am standing in front of the door which now has a big key lock thing on it and a pricelist. Hmmm. Thankfully he let me in for nothing (sssh) but the whole scenario had somewhat wiped the birthday smile off my face. It's all still very nice. Although the jacuzzi has gone, and the sauna wasn't working (the steam room wasn't working on our last visit). But, they now play music in there, which is nice.
On to breakfast, which had always been amazing - you used to be able to help yourself to anything (including champagne, which we had never done so before as were usually slightly over hung) and have eggs cooked to your liking brought to your table. It still all looks the same, beautifully laid out food, beautiful surroundings, lovely, really. Birthday morning and I thought, I'll have a glass of champagne to celebrate. Hmmm, no champagne. But a pricelist on the table saying how much your coffee, eggs, orange juice and CHAMPAGNE will be! Oh, they're having a laugh, right? No, indeed we were charged (only 5EURO, we only had them one morning) for our eggs on checkout. Thankfully the coffee and orange juice had seemed to be overlooked.
And no turndown service at bedtime anymore?! AND locks on the communal toilet doors in the hall? Not only does it look ugly, it makes you feel like you really are somewhere other than a 4* Luxury hotel.
Don't get me wrong, I love this place. The staff are all very polite and it's a lovely hotel in a fantastic location. But, when you're used to it one way, and all the little luxuries are taken away from you, it really marrs your opinion. Why am I paying all this money when I then have to pay for my eggs at breakfast? I know times are tight, but.....sorry De Tuilerieen, we'll be going elsewhere on our next trip to Bruges.

This hotel was absolutely stunning. We stayed here as a group of 6 using 3 rooms as a surprise trip for my Mum's 70th birthday and booked this after reading other tripadvisor reviews - we were very glad we did. The whole stay was fantastic, very relaxed and the rooms were all beautiful. The staff were all friendly and welcoming, and the rooms were clean, comfortable and very spacious. The bar area was cosy and it was lovely having a drink by the fireplace in the evenings. The location meant we were only a few minutes walk from all the main attractions so nothing was too far away, yet it was very quiet and peaceful and that combined with the blackout blinds meant we had great sleeps! We didn't have breakfast at the hotel and chose to go out to try the local cafes instead. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to stay here again.

I booked their superior delux room two weeks before Xmas to suprise my girlfriend. the price was very reasonable for what you get! You should have seen her face when she walked into the room, it was worth every penny. Four poster bed, tv, bath big enough for two, a walk in shower, his and hers sinks with built in hair dryer, lots of clothing storage and a mini garden.

The nighttime service was great. They serve certain foods i.e. pizza 24/7 and drinks to your room. It's nice having a belgian beer and hendricks delivered to your room at 2am after a night out :)

We did not eat there unfortunately as we wanted to explore bruges restaraunts. The staff were great though and they have their own car park at €25 a day and let us store it there on the third day until we left for free. The hotel is smack in the centre, everything is close. The night bar is lovely with a romatic fire and sofas.

I would recommend this hotel to couples after a lovely romantic weekend.

We knew this was a little more expensive, but it was the best! We went with two friends and we both had fantastic rooms on the front overlooking the canal. In fact we were upgraded to these rooms and they were immense, with a lovely ensuite and a huge bed. The lounge, though small, was really comfy, and the staff were most friendly. Breakfast ws included and was everything you could want. We loved the scrambled eggs with bacon, so it was a wide range. The hotel is bang in the middle of town, just a walk from excellent restaurants. We would definltely use this again; well worth the slight extra. Small pool, but very comfortable. Sauna nice and hot.

Room Tip: Choose 1st or second floor on the front.

Fantastic hotel in a great location close to everything you need in Bruges. Staff were helpful, the room we had was massive and nicely decorated in a traditional fashion. Great bathroom. Nice bar downstairs albeit quite small and pool and sauna etc there too. Parking is a bit of a struggle to get out of but other than that, can't complain. Perfect for couples.
