This hotel was perfect for a relaxing short break to Bruges. The building is full of character and provided a calm, luxurious base for exploring the fascinating city of Bruges. Location is perfect, adjacent to an attractive canal and within comfortable walking distance of the main market square, several museums, a variety of good restaurants and all the sites you are likely to want to explore.
Breakfast was excellent! The best I have experienced on the continent - an amazing variety of hot and cold dishes, with service until 11.30am.
Bedroom and bathroom - very comfortable, with everything you would expect from a 4 star hotel (no tea and coffee, but these are available from the bar).
Service was excellent at all times - prompt and quietly efficient with friendly and helpful staff.
If I return to Bruges I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Having read mixed reviews from others we didn't know what to expect, but were very pleasantly surprised. For us the location was perfect and our room was peaceful, comfortable, clean and tastefully decorated. The bathroom was great too. The hotel staff were so helpful and seemed to have lots of information to offer. As mentioned by another reviewer - the breakfasts are well worth paying for - we had them included in our holiday price so didn't have to think about the cost when we were there. Some Japanese tourists were taking photos of what was on offer! We went without lunch each day as the breakfast kept us going. We would definitely go back to this hotel and highly recommend it.

Visited towards the end of July with wife and 19 year old daughter. Hotel has great location, opposite canal with easy walk to the main squares, and calm old fashioned service. Rooms are traditional and spacious. Reasonable value for money given internet discount. Bruges is a lovely olde worlde city, great for a weekend break

Room Tip: We had room for 3 people, ended up with 2 double beds and a single bed added

If you are visiting Brugge, you have to stay here. It is located near everything you will want to see & do. The room was small, but has everything you will need for a comfortable stay. The view from our room was simply amazing. Do have breakfast there. It is well worth the money. Make sure you have a good appetite and want a large breakfast.

Room Tip: Our room was on the top floor with a view over the city.

stayed at De Tuilerieen in Brugge in July 2013 in what seemed to be too cheap for a 4+ star hotel right in the heart of Brugge............there must be something very wrong when the rate is euro128.25 per night +6% room tax.
First we arrived at 2.00pm room not ready -still being serviced -we waited till 3.45 pm to get into room -we were offered other room in the building that was ready and serviced before ours but declined as we had booked a river front room .Why they would service a room that was not required before ours beats me as were waiting sitting there in the lobby......unacceptable..... check in was well overdue.
Now for the sting ,we finally get to our room -its lovely large ,clean all you could want except the towels in the bathroom [both bath towels] were really badly torn which they changed upon our complait .
BUT on top of your room there is a charge for car parking [as we had a car] euro25 per night ,buffet breakfast euro25 per person, pool use euro10 per person.
So by the time you add all up its not cheap at all and I would rather have paid a higher flat fee inclusive of everything than to be told all this is extra .It left you feeling like you were taken for a ride. When I questioned the front desk about the extras "this is the way we charge in Brugge" was the response.

Room Tip: at the front of the building facing the river

This is my 1st 5* review, and one I have thought long and hard for. There are a few things that I could complain about; the cable tv was not available while we were there (but missing UK news for a few days was not a huge miss); there was not tea/coffee making facilities in the room; and access to the pool was an extra 10 Euros for access to the pool/sauna is a bit much when paying the high costs of rooms in this hotel. But when I compare this to other hotels I have given 4* too I must give this 5*; although if I had to pay the full price a may have considered just 4*. The whole setting is one of elegance and sophistication and the service from the staff is the best I have ever experienced. Although a bit expensive at 25 Euros the breakfast is of excellent quality and can easily see you through the day. The rooms are exquisite and very well decorated, and the pillows are like marshmallows. A great place that will make you feel special.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights beginning of July. We came by car from Kent (UK) via the shuttle train. Very easy and quick (1.30h from Calais). We didn't use the hotel car park as 25€ per night it's a bit stiff. We drove to the hotel to drop our luggage via the back. They have an electric gate which the reception will open after you ring the bell by the gate. We did the same when we left. The nearest public indoors car park is only 5mn a day and charge 8.50€ per 24h. Very safe too. We booked our stay via Voyage Privė and got a fantastic deal. Thank you VP. Our first Junior suite Room 443 was on split level, very large sitting room, beautiful bathroom, separate WC and bedroom upstairs. We asked to be moved mostly because the rooms were too dark and in an annexe at the back with very doggy narrow wooden stairs. They very kindly accommodated us next morning and we were moved to the main building in another Junior suite Room 341 on the top floor with the river view. Large bathroom with a window, bath and shower units. Separate WC. We were very happy. Buffet breakfast was very nice and enough choices to satisfy normal appetite served in a beautiful big room facing the river.

We loved Bruges. 4 days was enough to see most things. We drove to the nearest sea side resort Knokke Heist. Very windy beach but lovely setting. We had a nice lunch in Beaufort Restaurant by the beach.

It was a fantastic 4 days, very warm and sunny which added to our enjoyment . The hotel was in the best possible situation opposite the canal where we took a 30mn tour boat ride for 8.50€.
The Den Dyver restaurant next door is well worth a visit too. Not cheap but different. You choose from a 2 or 3 course meal and you either purchase the beer (10€) or wine (12€) package per person and the waiter will bring the drink for each dish you have order to compliment the food.

One word of advice: when we settled our bill at the hotel they charged us 75€ for car park which they immediately took off when we told them we didn't use it. No problem. Would stay there again very happily but most probably only if I found another deal as it is a quite a pricey hotel otherwise.

Room Tip: Junior suite 443 large on split level but too dark and in annex at the back. Junior suite 341 large...
