“Simple with good location”
Reviewed 18 February 2013

We stayed three nights in February. The Luxe room offered a double and single bed, and decently sized bathroom. Hotel was very clean. The included 8-10 am breakfast was delicious and offered eggs, bacon, breads, yogurt, oatmeal, cereal, teas, juices, coffee, etc. and was a great way to start the day. The location is great, as it is very easy to walk in nearly any direction to explore downtown Bruges. Cafe Rose Red is attached (and part of the hotel), which offers a nice evening retreat for drinks, with a few Belgian beers on tap. Unfortunately, the hotel is a bit loud. Our room was on the first floor which was nice for ease of access, but also situated beside the stairwell and near the front door, which meant lots off foot traffic noise at all parts of the morning, day, and night. The lowest point of the trip was the last morning when construction on a new window in the lobby began at 7:30am, to our surprise. All-in-all, a positive experience and would stay there again.

Room Tip: Luxe room offered ground floor access, but only a small double and a single bed. Some noise from be...

The hotel is in a good central location in a quiet back street. It's two star and the rooms and breakfast selection are perfectly adequate for a short stay. The room TVs are mounted very high on the wall and do not appear to have any English channels. The associated Café Rose Red has a superb selection of Belgian Beers including many you will not easily find elsewhere and some for the real connoisseurs. The staff are helpful and friendly.

Well priced, included breakfast, well stocked bar, friendly staff, great location, clean room and it looks good too! I don't really have much bad to say about this hotel. For the price you pay and the location it is in, I couldn't ask for much more. Definitely recommend this hotel if you want to see Bruges.

We stayed 4 nights in this hotel in November. Staff was extremely helpful and went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. The rooms were a decent size for a European hotel - no elevator. The room was clean, everything worked, bathroom was tiny but for the price i had no complaints. The included breakfast was fantastic and the Rose bar was a great place to end the evening! The location is just a block from the Market and central to everything in Brugge. We had a lovely experience at this hotel and would highly recommend it.

The hotel is in a good location, the rooms are basic but clean and fairly modern and well kept. The bar is nice and breakfast is included so good value for money. My only problem was the walls and doors are paper thin. You can hear the guy sneeze from two doors down the corridor.

The door shakes each time someone shuts their door, so in the middle of the night it sounds like someone is about to burst into your room. And if you are lucky enough to have a large family split across two rooms next door to you, well good luck when their three year old decides to scream in the top of their voice at 5am and then 7am! We took advantage of all the bars and being given a front door key, but still get more drunk people coming in and making noise in the early hours of the morning and sounds again like they are in the same room!

Doesnt matter what floor they are on, even the floor above sounds through the floor...bathroom, floorboards, staircase they all make a racket and its not an exaggeration.

Good view of the bell tower from our room though, with the bells that start at 7 :)

The hotel was rather small, but was fine for a short stay. The rate included a good breakfast in a cute cafe and the staff were very lovely and helpful. It is a very short walk (about 2mins) to the main city square and shops. Would stay again

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights in December and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel location is excellent, we loved the relaxed friendly atmosphere of the hotel and the hotel bar is superb. BUT the room we stayed in would not suit everyone. It was clean, with a comfortable bed and everyhing worked, but the bathroom was tiny. It had a sliding door and you had to manouver yourself past the sink to sit down on the loo. The room furnishings were a bit lacking - tiny wardrobe, a couple of stools and a table. Ok for a short break where you don't plan to spend a lot of time in the room!

The hotel is right in the centre of Bruges - 100m from the Markt where you can get buses to/from the station. Once you have dropped your bags, everything else is an easy (flat) walk. There are a couple of good restaurants in the next street (Cambrinus, Quatre Mains and others) - but be warned, eating in Bruges is not cheap.

And if you love Belgian beer, it is worth staying in the hotel just for the bar (see Rose Red Cafe). They have a great selection of beers and knowledgeable staff who are happy to talk you through the range. In the evening there is a lovely warm buzz in the bar room and a nice mix of people - such a contrast to those cold "business" hotels, with their men in business suits and silent couples.

Room Tip: Looking through the comments I think some of the rooms have bigger/better bathrooms, so if this is a...
