I think this is a great place in the city. You can enjoy the rooms and the restaurant in a very romantic city. Is near the center of the city and you also can take a very good breakfast. It's really nice!

We stayed at a room for 4 people, quite cheap and cosy. The lady at the reception was awsome! Very friendly and helpful with advice of restaurants and places of interest! Good relation of price and quality. Also, we all enjoyed wonderful breakfast.

We stayed for 3 nights at this brilliantly situated little hotel. The rooms were clean and warm with ensuite facilities. It offers excellent value for money (take along a travel kettle and supplies though as is always the case with European hotels) and the breakfast was great. Loads of choice and as much as you want to eat and drink! The location is literally 2 minutes walk from the Market Square and as Bruges is such a compact city everything else is within walking distance. Part of the hotel is the Cafe Rose Red with over a hundred Belgian beers so worth a visit even if you don't stay at the hotel! The waiters were very knowledgable and friendly. The Staff at the hotel were most helpful and friendlly too. Would certainly stay here again without hesitation and would recommend it highly!

Room Tip: Rooms at the front on the upper floor have a great view of a tower the Bruges roof tops. We stayed...

The hotel provides comfortable, basic accommodation in a great location very close to the main square with views of the tower from the rooms at the back.
The rooms are warm and comfortable but pretty basic and some of them could do with a little tlc.
What the hotel does have though which sets it apart from the rest is a fantastic little bar with very friendly staff who really know their beer! One of the best bars we've been in in Bruges - cosy, friendly and a great atmosphere.

The only things we'd say that need addressing to make the hotel more pleasant for guests in future would be to improve the furniture. Our 3 person room consisted of one really cheap-looking single wardrobe containing 3 coat hangers, which was too small. There were no drawers to keep things in and all the free space was taken up with a ridiculously large case stand. Although there were 3 modes of lighting in the room, it was very dark and the mirror was in an unlit corner. Some stronger bulbs needed or lights near the mirrors. Also, the stairway was too dark - the energy bulbs on press button timers never got to operating temperature, so by the time you got to the next button it was dark again.
The breakfast was good and staff very helpful and friendly.
Although only a temporary issue, the hotel was covered in scaffolding front and back in November 2013, which did spoil the view from our window at the back of the hotel and some friends at the front said the noise of workmen starting at 9am spoiled their stay and there was no mention of this work on the website. It may now be gone, but if we had been warned, even by email as a courtesy, it would have been nice.
Although the weather was mild, we thought it a pity that the outside sitting area was not in use as most of the tables and chairs were folded away and there was rubbish and scaffolding in the area. I presume this is not used in winter? The pictures on the website looked appealing with candles etc, so we were a little disappointed we couldn't use it.
That said, if those few things could be sorted out this would make a really good hotel a great hotel. The friendliness of the staff however overcome the few shortcomings and we will be staying there again - so this review is really just feedback to help the owners too.

This hotel had good reviews on tripadvisor and we decided to patronize it during the holidays between Xmas and New Year 2013. We were a couple and a young girl and we had a room with a double and a single bed squeezed in for 125 Euros a night with breakfast included. This may seem reasonable because the location is really good, right next to the Markt, and the street is a side quiet one. The building is an old one with character. We didn’t have any noise from the construction work or the bar downstairs. This is for the advantages. Upon arrival we had to wait at the reception because the staff of the hotel do all the work: they service the bar, the breakfast, the reception and the clients, everything besides cleaning. So, they are basically stressed, understaffed, in a hurry and have to run from one place to the next which does not make you feel very welcome. The room was clearly not a triple one, it was a double in which they had squeezed a third bed. The proof was that the small table and chairs didn’t fit anymore but were blocking the toilets door. The view from the room was on the scaffolding in the back yard. In the room there is no space for hanging anything except for a small closet with 5 hangers, which for a family staying 4 nights is not enough, especially since the closet was already stuffed with blankets and pillows. It had a large shower, but a small bathroom and sink. There were a total of 3 plugs in the room, one of which was already occupied by the light and one in the bathroom, so we had to make do with basically one plug for all our needs. The worst part was being in room 31 which is actually on the first floor right off the landing. We didn’t mind not having an elevator, but when everybody takes the stairs, laughing and talking at early morning or late evening hours, then you have a problem with lots of noise. Another problem was the mold on the bathroom walls and the toilet paper under the bed. Another strong downside was the breakfast. You had to take it in the reception area or in the bar area. Because the bar had to open at 11:00, the hotel staff started running around and shoving everyone out at 10:00 to get the bar ready. The way they do that is by making a lot of noise and banging plates, glasses and by cleaning up so as to get you out of there by removing all food and drinks right on the dot. The breakfast itself was not good for me. Bread and butter with jam and eggs with ham and cheese were provided along with juices, cereal and milk. There was a big bowl of yoghurt mixed with some kind of jam that stayed out all morning. If you wanted a plain yoghurt, there wasn’t any. If you wanted croissant or viennoiseries, there weren’t any. The only fruit was some pieces of pineapple which disappeared early on. Now some tips for the area and Bruges in general: at this time of the year, the restaurants fill up early. By 18:30 or 19:00, the good places are full, it happened to us to have to ask in 5-6 restaurants before getting a table. So you have to eat early or late to avoid being sent away. It also happened to us to be told OK for a table and then moved out because it had been reserved and the people had finally turned up… We didn’t go the Rose Red bar of the hotel because we weren’t interested in beer and they do not serve food. In the area of the hotel, one evening around 19:00, we tried all the restaurants in the main street row before ending up at the Passion for Food Oriental restaurant where we had an excellent couscous. Bruges is really beautiful but expensive, eating for 3 people in restaurants costs about 130-150 Euros a day, including cafes. We liked the Rembrandt café in the Eiermarkt square, a nice quiet place.

Room Tip: Choose a room on high floor and away from the stairs. Check if the floors are clean.

What a gem this is! Great location within walking distance to all the sites and a great little bar inside. It amazes me that a father and his daughter's run this place. The room we had was big and comfortable and clean. In fact we were to be in an upstairs room and because of my knee injury they moved us to one on the first floor without us even asking. We enjoyed drinking beer and having snacks in the garden and then at night in the Rose Red Bar (named after the Stephen King story). The Breakfast was also very good. Would definitely stay here again.
