The Oud Huis de Peellaert was a pleasant base for our three day visit to Bruges. It has a grand feel however the decor, especially the seating, lacks a little imagination. The staff were pleasant but somewhat overstretched (especially at breakfast). Hotter coffee would have been appreciated. The rooms were spacious and the beds very comfortable. A lovely sunny courtyard was a special treat.

We bookes two luxury rooms, one on the street, one on the garden. Both were large and very quiet and offered all the luxury you can expect. Amenities are from L'Occitane, which is always nice. Breakfast buffet offered a large variety of cold and warm items. The architecture is wonderfull and the hotel is right in the middle of the city, easy to reach. They have 5 private parkingspots, so make sure to make a reservation for one. Receptionist, I think, was a trainee who still needs lots of 'training'. Other staff was very helpfull and professional.

Room Tip: make reservation for a parking place and ask for rooms on the first floor

The staff are excellent, room was very high standard with a decent and vet clean en-suite. Parking is very limited so pre-book. The hotel is central, easyish to find with a TOM TOM. Breakfast was plentyful and varied. Classic features and something special. We highly recommend to spend a short time here.

Room Tip: Ask for a larger room

We booked through booking. com and got a very good rate. All staff very good and breakfast not to be missed.
Our room was on the first floor and the rooms are fabulous, the most luxurious room we have ever had, the nice touch of l'occitaine toiletries.

Room very small and pokey staff very reserved bordering on cant be bothered very overpriced not enough selection at breakfast to warrant 4 star and price paid disappointed . Parking the car also a nightmare I know these places are old and were not built for cars hotel could be more helpful with. Directions

Room Tip: Don't let them put you on 3rd floor rooms like cupboards

We stayed four nights and found that we'd been upgraded to an Executive room on arrival, towards the back of the hotel. Room, breakfast and facilities were excellent, and from sitting in the lounge it was clear that the staff were friendly, informative and chatty, or left guests alone whichever was their preference.

Room Tip: From reading other reviews ask to avoid rooms at the front, although we didn't experience noise...

A long weekend was booked at this hotel for my Birthday. Upon arrival in our room we were met with a very bad smell of raw sewage in the room and in the corridor leading to it. We were asked for assistance from the duty manager, who agreed there was a smell and there had been problems with the room next door. As there was no alternative room (fully booked) even though we saw guests checking in afterwards, we were told it was probably coming through the air conditioning and to switch it off and open the window as it was a warm evening. This was not the best start, but we had no choice as the weekend was already pre paid and booked. In addition to this there were no double beds just twin bedded rooms with the beds pushed together with ill sized single quilts. The situation worsened as there was a very noisy bar directly across from the hotel along with noisy activities in the centre, all in all very little sleep was had, the next day was my birthday, not a good start. We spoke to a different member of staff the following morning, who said we could move rooms but she had none to show us until the afternoon. The smell was still strong and we decided to check out, we were told we would not get a refund. We spoke to our credit card company to action a dispute and were told the hotel had taken the full amount 3 times!! This is still in dispute and is not what we wanted for a romantic weekend break. Needless to say we do not recommend!

Room Tip: Would not recommend a room!
