Arriving at the hotel we had good first impressions, the location is very central, the lobby and bar area is beautiful. However, when we were shown our rooms on the 3rd floor one of the rooms (room 302) did not have a shower!! The ceilings were so slanted over the bathtub that there was no way you could stand up (it was about 2ft high), you have to stoop down, climb in and sit in the bathtub (which is slippery and dangerous) and try and use the hand held nozzle and the bathtub did not drain properly. It was ridiculous. Worst of all, when we booked the rooms there was no warning or notification that the room was like this- in this day and age when you pay alot of money for a hotel it is expected that it comes with a functioning shower, this is a basic requirement of a hotel. When we raised this with the staff they could not move us because the hotel was full, and they were very unhelpful and did not offer any apologies.

When we arrived we were also told the wifi didnt work, after they explicitly advertise free wifi. it was clear this had not been working for some time as the staff admitted it doesnt work on guest devices and phones and that should we want to use the internet we would need to walk to their sister hotel and sit in the lobby. this is not a solution for people who are travelling from far away and expect to be able to use the internet in a hotel.

I think having a shower and internet are really basic things that should be expected in a hotel of this kind, and had we known we would not get these simple requirements we would have definetly stayed somewhere else.

Room Tip: do NOT choose room 302 or any rooms on the third floor with slanted ceilings and ensure you ask that...

Excellent location, nicely appointed room, decent breakfast. Very helpful and friendly staff! I would strongly recommend this hotel. We were booked here by one of their associated hotels when they made an error and overbooked the hotel. We were very happy as this was most likely an upgrade!

This was our second stay at this Hotel & was as good as the first. Breakfast was served in a lovely bright, clean & airy room with a good selection of food to choose from. Staff very pleasant & helpful. Our room was a good size & very comfortable, & it is very well placed for sightseeing but in a quiet street. Will stay here again if we return to Brugge.

Room Tip: A room at the back has a little courtyard to look out onto but I haven't stayed in the new rooms...

Being just off the main square the hotel is a great base for exploring Bruge. Check in and check out was smooth and efficient. We checked out first thing Sunday morning and asked the reception to book us a cab at 3:00pm to take us to the railweay station - it arrived bang on time. Breakfast is good. Free wi-fi in the room.Quality toileteries in the bathroom. The public lounge comfortable. We will use it again the next time in Bruge.

Room Tip: ASk for a room at the back of the hotel as they are quieter.

Nice hotel, clean spacious rooms. Very nicely done bar and lounge areas with old artefacts.
Just beyond Burg virje. Wifi is good.
It is a comfortable decent hotel but misses on few things
Breakfast well spread but does not spoil you for choice.
Staff helpful but often no one on reception and in the evening a single person is handling every thing, the sauna reception etc. So be prepared for some waiting.
TV channels limited. There as a train strike and I could have missed my flight from Brussels had I not come to know thru some other source. There are no local English news channels on TV and the hotel staff was not so thoughtful.
My stay was good but left me longing for more.

Lovely old hotel with excellent, friendly staff, especially Kobe. We stayed at the rear of the hotel in the newer extension. The accommodation was very good, comfy bed and very quiet at night. Room and bathroom very clean. The breakfast was substantial with a large and varied choice and the the service was always with a smile. WI-Fi is a little patchy but this is a minor criticism.

Room Tip: Try and book a room at the rear of the hotel as we heard from another couple that the front can be v...

Recently spent few nights at this hotel to celebrate a good friends special birthday . We can only advise that you book here to find out how fabulous it is. It is so close to the main market square and all the other tourist attractions which is fabulous. The Hotel staff are wonderful and help you with any query you may have, and the Hotel well..... words cannot describe how beautiful it is. We would definitely book this hotel again with out doubt when we next visit.

Room Tip: we stayed in the Garden rooms which was in an annex but found it great as it overlooked a small gard...
