Wow! This is a place to get to for lunch in Bruges. We tried to come here the previous day but didn't have reservations and were unable to sit down, so we made reservations the next day. (Note: They only serve lunch from 12-2, breakfast from 8:30-11:30, and just tea/snacks after lunch time) We couldn't have been happier with our meal. First, the place is just lovely with a delightful ambiance about it. The staff is also super friendly. We shared all of our dishes, the bagel with egg and smoked salmon (on a deliciously toasted homemade bagel), a quiche with spinach and ricotta cheese, and a goat cheese and chive spread on bread with a green tomato jam sauce. Each meal to itself was scrumptious. The portions were sizable as well. We each loved our meals so much and were sorry we couldn't come back again. The restaurant was full and most of the other customers ordered a huge peach and ham salad that looked amazing! The price is just right with the main courses between 10-13 Euros. There is a wide selection of teas, waffles, pancakes, and deserts as well--but we were too full to try the other food items. I highly recommend the Gingerbread Tea Room for a great lunch in Bruges!
