“No superlatives left!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 March 2014

It's all been said before - there are no superlatives left! So pleased we chose this charming place. A touch of luxury for us, it was right at the top end of our budget but well worth it, a memorable stay.

We visited Bruges between the 18-21st Feb this year and stayed at Jacquemine. Annie and Pavel were simply the most perfect hosts you could wish for. Welcoming us into their home and Pavels art studio. Our room was amazing. Crisp white sheets, chocolates, a walk in shower and free standing bath, Nespresso coffee machine, leather sofa, towels a walk in wardrobe, our own lounge area...it was better than a five star hotel. We've stayed in some lovely places, but this was a home to relax in. There are just two rooms which is brilliant, you feel, like personal guests of the owners.

Breakfasts are for true foodies...like us! Annie and Pavel prepare, cook and serve the most amazing start to each day!

We shall definitely come back and can't recommend their hospitality and accommodation highly enough.

We stayed here for 2 nights. First of all the B&B could not be better situated in Brugge. In the old town of Brugge, close to all you want to visit. The room was wonderfull and very romantic. Breakfast was fantastic but way too much, served by a very lovely lady. AND you can park your car really close by for only 8 euro/24hrs. We had a FANTASTIC weekend !!!!

Its not an ordinary guesthouse by any stretch of the imagination....it's a real home of a wonderful couple who are lovely and ever so hospitable. The home is stunning and should be in 'Architectural Digest'. Anne is a delight and Pavel's paintings/chats in the gallery very thought provoking. The rooms are reached by a small lift and once upstairs the 2 apartments are chic, spacious, clean and decorated to a very high order. It is suite quality but you'd pay 3 times more in a hotel. The views over the garden from my room was quite something else. Breakfast is a delight and something I still miss. I really cant think of a negative but you need to be prepared to become part of this wonderful experience. Don't miss out on this exceptional experience. wont spoil it by over describing it!

My friend and I have just returned from a weekend at the Jacquemine. I can only say that this place is a real find and Annie is the most perfect host you could ever ask for.

We arrived mid evening on Friday and took a taxi from the station to the guest house (10EUR). Annie was there to great us and show us around the guest house. You enter into a stunning dining room decorated with Pavels art work, before taking the lift to the 2nd floor where the 2 guest rooms are.

We were in room 2 which had been laid out as a twin. The room was HUGE! and we were shocked in a delighted way at how lovely the room was, we really did not expect this from a guest house. We had a sitting area with TV, gorgeous bedding, massive bathroom with bath and separate rain shower... the room really was more like a suit in a posh hotel! Stunning.

There is a communal sitting area between the 2 rooms and just off here was a larder room with beers, soft drinks and snacks. It occurred to me that this space would be perfect if a family had the 2 rooms booked or 2 sets of friends.

The location of the guest house is brilliant, it's just a minute or two walk from the very centre of the city, and the city is so small that you never need to taxi or use public transport to get around.

The next big shock was the breakfast... absolutely amazing. Pavel makes fresh bread and pancakes every morning. Annie makes a gorgeous quark dish that her Mum taught her... then there are eggs how you want them, fruit, chocolates, pastries.... You really won't go hungry and it's all delicious.

Annie gave us lots of tips on places to see in Bruges, including places to check out and book for dinner.

Bruges is a stunning city, and I can't see how anyone could not fall in love with the place anyway... but our stay at the Jacquemine just made the weekend all the more perfect. This guest house is better than any other I have stayed in, it is better than any B&B and I would even say that the experience was better than even 5 star hotels I have been in.

Annie also gave us scenic walking directions back to the station on Sunday, if you are able I would fully advise this walk.

Thank you Annie and Pavel for an amazing stay. I will definitely be advising anyone staying in Bruges to book here and if/when I come again I will be staying here!

Room Tip: There are just 2 rooms, No2 was stunning as I am sure no1 is!

We visited on 13th-15th July this year and it was the best place we have ever stayed! The owners are lovely and not over bearing for a B&B, the room at the back of the house is outstanding from the massive bathroom with wet room and the lovely bed sheets! I won't say too much as it is a lovely surprise when you get there. Just make sure you have some change for when you arrive by car so you can pay the meter for 15min stop then Annie will direct you to the local car park which is actually 7euro for 24hours rather than 12 euro which the Booking.com website states. Yes and as per other reviews....the breakfast is not to be missed.
