Met at the Railway Station by Johann, perfect position, good shower and kitchen, comfortable beds. What more can you say. Everything was close by including the Laundromat and a number of restaurants that served a great Belgian beer.everything is within walking distance which is a bonus because Belgian hospitality demands that you walk it off. Opaal is an interesting building in an interesting city.

“Great little place”

The Opaal house was a great little place. It was close to everything but in a quiet street. We were able to park the car around 9 mn away from the house so absolutely perfect. Johan was really helpful when we needed his help. All in all a great stay.

Liked best: Great location - Johan was very helpful at all times - Small house but with all the mod cons
Liked least: House was a bit dirty in places (inside drawers or shelves in cupboards, etc...) . It needed a deep clean eventhough it looked ok at first glance.

Great rental property in central Bruges. Johan showed us where to park our car for free - very useful. The property had everything we needed including BBC 1, 2, 3 and 4 - a necessary with teenagers who wanted to watch the Winter Olympics!

“Great place in the center of Brugge”
Reviewed 26 December 2013 for a stay in December 2013

Nice house, big enough for a family of 6. Best abouth it is the location, just a few minutes away from the center. A grocery and bakery are nearby. The house is comfortable and the host is most friendly. If you want to go to Brugge - go to Opaal!

“great location but house disappointing and trying to charge me for damage”

First of the house is in a great place and the owner Johan was helpful and responded quickly to any questions we had. unfortunately when we arrived the second double bed which we had been promised was not a double bed but a separate bed slid under a single which you obviously cannot even push together to form a double. so the friends that came with us had to sleep separate. on the second night there we were to head into town which i must point out is very close, maybe about 5-10 minutes walk, but could not shut the front door the humidity or heat had caused the door to warp or expand in the frame so it would not latch. without slamming it i gave it a push while in the frame hoping the latch would click in but one of the very thin window panes cracked and fell out. i immediately called the owner and he attended and boarded it up also remounting the door on its hinged so it would latch as he himself could not get it to shut. The window was repaired the next day without anything being said although we did have to clean up a lot of broken glass that had been left on the floor. Then today i received an email saying i was being charged 504 euros for the repair. i would definitely avoid this property and having stayed in Brugge many times now would suggest people look elsewhere and avoid the extra costs months down the line.

“Our home from home in Brugge”

After many years visiting Brugge we found Opaal 6 years ago and have just completed our 7th stay. We love its convenient location, its spaciousness, courtyard garden and the experience of living like a local.
Johan is always welcoming and helpful ensuring a stress free arrival and stay.
Restaurants and shops are close by as are a number of attractions.
Even though we know Brugge very well we always manage to find new restaurants and places to visit, made easier by the central location of Opaal.

“Splendid location cosy house”

Its a lovely house, very near the main square but in a slightly arty area. Its easy to get to from the ring road and subsequently near free parking. The house is very compact, warms up easily, very well furnished and immediately comfortable. Johan is discrete, fair, helpful, invisible and informative all at the same time. Very heartily recommended.

Liked best: the bathroom
