My partner and I were staying in the Academie Hotel, practically next door to this 'pub'. We love craft beer and were looking forward to tasting some excellent local brews during our short stay in Bruges. We popped in for a quick drink on our first evening. There was a blonde woman behind the bar and we found her not at all friendly, so we had a quick drink and left. We looked in the window every time we passed and, when we saw her in there, we kept walking. The bar looks lovely on the inside, and we would have loved to spend more time there, but we found the level of service very, very poor. She showed us the beer menu, some were in bottles and when we asked about what was on tap, she said that she had no bottled beer. When we asked what size portion a beer came in (didn't want to have a large amount as we were about to go for a walk), she said that 'every beer in Belgium has its own glass'. So, it's a NO from me.

What a great find. Not on the neaten track but away from the main squares, close to where the horses are fed and watered. A small place with a small' beer tasting' sign outside but what a great place when you get inside
Taste the various sausages that are on sale but the main attraction is the range of beers you can taste in small glasses. 3 glasses for 8 euro or you can buy them in full glasses too.
The toilets here were disgusting which was a shame and the only reason it does score higher

Our last stop off the day, a short stumble from our hotel (Ibis Centrum) and a close contender for our favourite bar. Bram is a great barman, happy to advise both the belgian beer novice (me) and the more seasoned (my dad). The Italian sausage is to be recommended and have to admire his willingness to trust us with a sharp knife rather than cutting it for us!

We stopped at this fab little joint after stumbling across a sign advertising "Beer Tasting". LOVED! They offer three small glasses of different amazing Belgian beers. We sat outside and enjoyed the sun, but the inside has a cool, old feel. Really loved!

We found this place by chance and we loved it. Amazing place, comfortable and cosy inside.
We hardly recommend it!
