The receptionist has just asserted to me that it is a 30 min walk from the train station, it's not, I've just done it!
I'm fit, it's maybe 50 mins, allow an hour. Or if you're hoping to spend time in the city, book closer, this isn't the hotel for you... Or me.

Room Tip: Ok, but not close to the city. No views available aNywhere in here!

If you read ll these reviews you get some real mixed opinions about the hotel and it leaves you wondering what to do . So maybe this will help :

The hotel is outside of city center --so if you are looking to go out at night and stroll the streets you either need to walk--and the 30 minutes is correct -take a cab --8 Euros one way or bike in -10 minutes --Hotel has bikes for rent --
What you also need to understand is that this hotel is geared for two specific groups -Bicyclist and bus tour groups. Being outside of the city they have a large parking lot and they do handle 1-2 tour buses a day--It is their bread and butter --Buses are in by about 6 pm and out by no later than 8 AM

For Bicyclist --Great location to start from as the routed bike path is just outside the parking lot -- big covered bike shed -Safe - No worries about parking your bike if staying within the city.

Rooms --I upgraded before arriving after reading about the twin beds -- My upgrade was about 15 Euros a night but with a king bed and lots of room and away from the parking area and next to a sheep field --it was w lean and the only compliant if you want to call it that is it would be nice to have one English speaking news channel to watch just to get caught up after a long day . The TV was an older model but i was not there to watch TV.

Staff - Excellent --they go out of their way to help

Air conditioning-worked well

Breakfast -Absolutely no complaints - Great selection and plenty of food -- We were there when all the tour people wee eating and the food was well stocked even in spite of some of the tourist loading up their backpacks . The breakfast chef and crew did a wonderful job --

So over all as a bicyclist i would go back in a heartbeat as we could get in town in 10 minutes and at night be away from it all and eat well before we hit the road in the morning

Room Tip: I would upgrade to the King if you are staying more than two night and ask to be away from the front...

It's about 40mins walk from the hotel to the Brugge city centre. Fairly cheap to get a taxi or bus. We went with a group of friends and the hotel is very cheap. The room is spacious, clean. The only thing is the double bed is actually two single bed pushed together. If you were a copule, be aware of the middle gap as it gets bigger as you fall in...
The room doesn't have internaltional plug convertor. Please bring your own. Not much to say really, I think I would stay in a different hotel the next time that is nearer to the Brugge city centre.

Stayed in this hotel at the end of our cycle tour. We were glad to base ourselves here for three nights after moving hotels each night from Brussels. We had great difficulty finding this hotel as our travel company VOS Travel had not informed us that this hotel changed names recently so hence the new name was not on our map. The sign post for the hotel at nearby roundabout was so small one would have needed binoculars to see it. We did mention it to the nice girl at reception who said she would pass it on to the travel company. The room was nice overlooked the car park which got noisy at times due to the coaches. Breakfast was always rushed and not much too chose from despite being down at 9am each morning. I think the people from the coaches were down earlier and ate all round them and left very little for the rest of us. If you arrived a bit later you were asked to sit outside. I think they were trying to get cleared up for the lunch. Mind you breakfast finished at 10.30 according to the brochure. Maybe this time needs changed. Great bicycle shed for the bikes although it still wasn't big enough. We cycled into Bruges every day which was great. Glad we didn't have to walk in as long walk in warm weather. Overall an enjoyable stay in this hotel.

Room Tip: Avoid the coach car park as can be noisy early in the morning.

We have stayed in this hotel years ago when it was known by a different name. This time we were not as impressed. The main reason was the air conditioning. It was so weak it hardly made any difference to the temperature of the room and considering it was around 33 degress centigrade outside it was hot and stuffy. Luckily the window opemed fully, however in the night we were inundated with flying insects and bitten. We had wanted to get an early night as we had to be up early on our last morning but what with the heat and the fact that people were talking not far from below our window, getting to sleep was an impossibility. We could hear staff outside talking at 2.30am. The room was ok. At least it had tea and coffee making facilities. There was a mini bar where you could keep your drinks cool, and there was a safe in the room, which is always handy. Breakfast wasn't exceptional but it was ok. There were a few cereals, bacon, scrambled eggs, beans and tomatoes, and the ususal choice of continental meats, cheeses, fruit and rolls etc. The staff were friendly enough and the one man working in the restaurant on the last morning was just about running in order to keep up with the number of guests having breakfast. He was doing a really good job. Parking was free and there was always plenty of space. The hotel is in a fairly quiet area, next to a field with a few sheep. I wouldn't recommend staying in the summer when it is hot, but in the cooler months if you want somewhere just a couple of miles outside of bruge with free parking and a reasonable breakfast then this is ok.
