“3 days in Bruges”

Koffieboontje is a quaint smallish hotel in a good location to get to all the attractions in this fascinating old city in Belgium. We chose the hotel based on location and price and we were not disappointed. We could walk to the main square within minutes and to every other attraction we were interested in, within a short space of time. Apart from getting a cab to and from the hotel and station we walked everywhere. The hotel was adequate with warm en suite bedrooms with TV, hair dryer etc and included a continental breakfast with tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms.

The receptionist sent us to the top floor in the wrong building, We had to return 3 times to get any help. We found ourselves at the bottom of a flight of dirty dingy dark stairs with no lift andour room was at the top.The toilet flush was faulty, the overbed light was missing a string and the shower silicone was black. The courtesy room for luggage was a toilet! Our cases got buried and we had to lift a dozen heavy cases out to retrieve ours which had been moved nearer to the toilet. This was in full view of the receptionist who surprise surprise again didnt help us. Lucky we were only staying one night.

Room Tip: Dont stay in annex down side alley with green door marked C.

The city of Bruges is a romantic place to stay. This hotels has tried to keep its authenticity, but therefore it has lost al major comfort that you expect from modern travelling. Breakfast is good and after all you'll have to admit that you get what you paid for: a cheap price for a rather chaep hotel.

The hotel is situated right at the small City centre of the old heritage Belgian City ,Brugges and nearest to the Belfort Tower . We can see the time right from the hotel room the big clock of the tower. A 2 km ride by Bus right from the railway station Brugges , the hotel is centrally situated for sight seeing by walk ,The Diamond Museum, old Cathedrals,MInnewater lake with full of swans ,Flemish Primitives seen at Historium , Grote Markt (Grand Place) are all walkable distance. The free break fast is very good and varieties are provided to all european taste with fishes variety.
Though the hotel room is small, it is clean and comfortable by location, township, and heritage look.Very old city with horse coaches plying around ,the hotel is situated in such a place ,all the surrounding Town buses are touching the city center right outside the next street of the hotel.

Room Tip: corner suites of tower clock side are good for lighting and a view ouside is possible. Most of the b...

The hotel have a very good location, a few steps to the "Markt square", very close to the touristic points and not so far from the central station, around 20 min by foot (8 min by bus). The room was quiet and clean. The staff was friendly and the breakfast did not offer many options but was ok. The hotel is a good option for the weekend.

Room Tip: The duplo standard room was very nice I do not know about others.

I have spent one night with a friend in a twin bedroom. The room was small, the bathroom looked old but for the price, we could deal with it. The breakfast was very good and the location is great. The staff was very helpful. I would recommend this hotel if you don't look for a modern and romantic room.

fantastic location just off the main Markt Square. Located down a quiet side street, hotel a bit tired and rabbit warrant. Reception very dingy. Rooms were clean and comfortable, breakfast good, friendly and helpful information from reception on arrival and offer of a left luggage room much appreciated both before room ready at 3.15pm and on day of check out at 11am.

only real niggles, room not ready until after 3 on a wet Friday after having arrived at 10am off the ferry. Also beware back rooms, overlooking small courtyard and noisy pub into early hours.

All in all good value but reception generally felt a little chaotic

Room Tip: avoid rooms at the back, don't expect room to be cleaned before late afternoon
