“genuinely beautiful hotel”
Reviewed 27 July 2014

Loved this hotel!!! Not sure why it didnt get 5 green circles.
Stayed here for a few nights, fabulous location, 5 mins from the big square, but just far enough to not be in the tourist circus with the tour guides and horse drawn carriages running you over when you leave the hotel. A good choice of places to eat and drink right by the hotel.
The hotel itsself is beautiful inside and out, the photos on the website dont do it justice. We were lucky enough to have a canal view room which was lovely and were also right next to the side entrance.
Didnt have food or much interaction with the staff, they werent massively friendly but were fast and efficient.

We had a very pleasant 3D2N stay at Hotel Martin's Relais. The triple room was very spacious and comfortable. The staff at the check in / check out were very efficient and friendly. Breakfast was generous and more than sufficient. We had the garden view. We just love the big windows, especially in the warm weather. The location is quiet, next to a canal and within walking distance to the town centre and the restaurants. Bruges is a very interesting place to explore on foot. We love it.

We stayed at the Martin's Relais for 4 nights 30th June .They gave us a lovely canal view room, massive bed, very big bathroom.old furniture but suiting the atmosphere.
We do a lot of traveling and felt very comfortable and at home here!
The breakfast was magnificent fresh, clean and very tasty, plenty to choose from.
We would not hesitate on going back to Bruges again just to stay in this hotel!
and to watch the swans fall asleep on the canal is just epic
Well done Martin's Relais

We loved our stay here. Our room number was number 25 in the roof space (2nd floor), we had a decked (small) area to go out to, needed due to the heat, shame there wasn't a table & chair.
The furniture & furnishings were lovely, fitting for a period hotel.
We had bed & breakfast. The breakfast room was superb, as was the breakfast choice.
The receptionist, Dieter, was the most welcoming we've ever known!

My husband & I are just back from a 2 night trip to Brugge where we stayed in this hotel. Its an absolutely beautiful hotel in an ideal location. The first impression of the hotel was great - you had to walk through a gorgeous wee flowery entrance up to reception where we were greeted by a very friendly member of staff. Our room was number 7 on the ground floor with a garden view. I can honestly say that the bed was one of the comfiest that I've ever slept in! The canal is right behind the hotel and theres a wee square too with resteraunts. The location of the hotel was perfect - just a very short walk around the corner to the main square where the Belfry stands. Breakfast in the morning was great - a big selection of cereals, pastries, breads & croissants, meats & cheeses, hot food, yoghurts and my favourite - prosecco!! Cannot fault it and highly recommend!

This is a boutique hotel filled with charm, elegance and, er, a parrot! The location is very good, a few minutes' walk from the main square in Bruges and next to the canal. A very peaceful setting for a quiet weekend away.

A special mention has to go to the reception staff: after our airline misplaced our luggage, my girlfriend and I were given toiletries and a phone charger to get us through the weekend! We were also given plenty of tips about things to do and places to eat and drink around town.

Also make sure you get yourselves a wee champagne breakfast - top quality food!

We stayed in a superior room with canal room in this centrally located hotel. We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the room and the antique looking furniture - very comfortable. The staff were efficient and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. If you want ultra modern, don't stay here. This hotel is perfect for comfort, art appreciation and relaxing.

Room Tip: If you want a huge bed and a canal view, ask for room 27!

Dear LondonMarg,

Thank you very much for your nice words on our hotel.

We are delighted to read you have appreciated the antique style of the hotel, and the service provided by my staff members. Most of them are locals so they have a great knowledge about Bruges, and they also feel proud of their city, which reflects in the service they try to provide to our guests.

We hope we may welcome you again in the future.

Kind Regards,
Sofie Goossens – General Manager
