I travelled by train from Amsterdam and stayed three nights September 10-13. Arriving at Brugge it was drizzling but I still chose to walk from the station to the hotel. The luggage wheels on the cobblestone streets made a bumpy and noisy but not at all strenuous walk. Check in was easy and carrying my bags up the stairs was good exercise after all that sitting on the train.
In room 8 by myself I was very comfortable, with a couple it would be a bit more squeezy but not too bad. The room looks out over the street and directly at Sint Salvators cathedral, great view and no noise to speak of. Pleasantly the windows are fully opening. This hotel has character, and room 8 is no exception. I counted 8 light switches, all for separate lights, but only 2 power points. There was another damaged power point behind a board placed for safety beside the bed.
The walls aren't thick so if you stay consider your neighbours because they can likely hear most of what you are saying. I was exhausted enough after very full days that it never bothered me.
WiFi in the room just doesn't happen. But sitting down in the lounge/bar of an evening with a drink was more than enough time to catch up on emails and facebook, the 21st century staples. And I quite enjoyed the retro '80s music while doing so.
I would definitely stay here again.
